btw, the film was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2007...and was one of the more talked about films there...though IMHO I didn't find anything resembling horror in it..
I've just now read the wikipedia entry on this movie. Somehow I think it's really funny. And it got me thinking about the main character, i.e. how was she born; how was the doctor able to determine her gender; was it genetic, from whom (mother or father) did she inherit the genes, how did her momma clean her up when she changed her diapers; how many toothbrushes she used (must've been color coded to avoid confusion), etc., etc.
in theory it can be comedy-horror..in reality...I kept on scratching my nose while watching the film...
oh...it was on cable tv..so probably will pop out in HBO or was it Star Movies channel one of these dreary nights...one scene in the movie though has on doctor (?) commenting the tooth they found imbedded in the first victim was a cross between a shark and a lamprey..but human...
eeek..imagine if evolution really goes this way for the female line..
I wasn't thrilled...though my expression may be thrilling to somebody who wants to sculpt confused-horrified-don't-know-if-I-should-laugh-now expression...

ReplyDeleteThe movie must have been a teeth-shattering thriller.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it didn't have any bite to it! :)
ReplyDeleteA visit to the dentist, can really be a frightful experience.
ReplyDeleteYou're used to scary things, you fell asleep?
ReplyDelete(I too fell asleep watching Alien - "In space, nobody can hear you scream!")

ReplyDeletedid you google the story? coz it would be something that males would be leery of :-)
Now that you mentioned it, I checked the movie out.

Hahaha! No wonder you fell asleep. The plot is worst than "The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".
killer tomatoes???
ReplyDeleteon second thought, maybe I shouldn't be too harsh..black comedy-horror may be difficult to pull off :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's another cult film, actually shot on campus where I went to school at in the late 70s.
ReplyDeleteI just read it...at least its comedy...maybe I could giggle at the idea of tomatoes in a Jaws scene...ermm..
