"Shanghai-ed": From one blog I came across, I was told to beware of tea scams in Shanghai, wherein you are approached and invited for tea by peeps saying they want to practice their English on you and off you go to a tea house. The next thing you know, your new friends have disappeared and the unlucky one (you) get the bill from the tea house running to thousands of yuan (ehem) and a large gentleman now approaches you if you balk at paying. But I have an advantage....*wink*

You can easily make use of their metro instead of taxis.
For those who love walking tours and trains like me!

If you happen to be in Shanghai now and like old photos, drop by the 'Shanghai Art Museum'. I saw photos of the Old Summer Palace (Beijing) which were illuminating since its just bare ruins now. There were also original old prints dealing with China from Harper's Weekly, Illustrated London (to name a few) dating back to 1800s are also on show as well as works from other artists....then do have afternoon tea afterward at Kathleen's 5 (same historic building) to savor the view over People's Square! (Or JW Marriot for stronger stuff).

An FB Share Started off My Day..

When I opened FB, I just giggled.
Andrew had shared from a friend's page this image....and how true it is!
Especially the way things are going with all the storms coming in..in the end, we need power!
