Pagsanjan, Laguna

Start:     Jan 20, '08 06:00a
Pagsanjan, the tourist capital of the province of Laguna and one of the premiere world-class tourist destinations in the Philippines, is gifted with natural wonders and scenic views!

-> that was in the email of my friend Keen who thoughtfully emailed a visibility plan and said - let's go, go, go...this Sunday..ha!

and I hemmed and hawed and....said, well, let's see if I get better by Saturday...after all I get to miss Sinulog in Cebu, might as well try another place to celebrate a bit...

fortunately, the fever has gone, throat is better, and its certainly a great motivator to be able to visit a place I've never been to...so...*cross fingers* let's see if I can wake up early and if I can get to Pagsanjan

  2. Maganda talaga sa Pagsanjan, sana nga makarating ka Cat. That's 15 mins away from our place, Sta. Cruz. :)

  3. I was really tempted to go under the actual falls...but reason prevailed and I desisted, especially since I only brought a tshirt.

I went home half-wet, meaning, my pants and sandals were squishing all the way back home to Makati. It was also raining off and on so we were not able to go around the place to take pictures of the old houses...anyways, shooting the rapids and seeing the falls - ok na yun!

thank you, I hope you guys can also go there one of these days, pics to be posted later when I have some food inside me :-)

  6. Oselle and MeAnn,

it was great, and sort of made up not seeing Sinulog in Cebu (on tv at least)...

enjoy naman ako, even if medyo feeling under the weather (which was maulan din konti)...

I would have dunked myself under the muddy water if only para super sulit ang experience, pero being able to go and see for myself one of our tourist spots - am happy already - thats always been one of my aims, to go around and see for myself yung natural wonders ng bansa ko...

  7. I didn't think I was tired..but after reaching Makati (and still squishing with less noise though), I brought some things plus groceries, went back to my condo, did the laundry then fell asleep fully intending to eat dinner, gumising ako 1 am na..and promptly switched off the lights and went off to sleep..zzzzzz

  13. very good! we should all do that...sana nga lang mag improve ang transpo system and roads dito...just like what BNK mentioned in one of Chito's blogs...yung sa trains naman...wish ko rin to do the rounds of all the tourist spots....

  14. yeah, the train system is always one thing I look forward to when I visit a country...I was more than a little green with envy when I saw HK and Singapore and how easy it was to travel from one end to another, so convenient...

I have always been harping about a train system in Cebu (which they never put back after WW2) running North to South.

As we were travelling to Pagsanjan, I was idly thinking that it wasn't that easy also going there...though I must give kudos to the horde of Koreans flocking to the place, maybe its all arranged by tour packages...but wouldn't it be nice to have something like this as accesible to people without spending a heap of money?

btw, there are about a thousand or more boatmen in comparison to around 300 tourists per day during the more busy season..these boatmen are licensed...the ride is about 660 per head and includes the cost of the lifevest, some fees, cushion, helmet...

  15. FYI, a lot of those resorts that dot the Pagsanhan riverside are now owned and operated by Koreans (of course under the name of their Filipino wives or partners)..

  16. kainis di ba? pati nga sa gym namin....puro koreana na rin! arrrgh!! an yeong he sayo! sana mas enterprising ang pinoy...

  17. May invasion pala ng mga Koreans diyan sa Pilipinas ngayon. Siguro malaking incentive ang binibigay ng government sa kanila. May mga dala ba silang dollars?

  18. most are studying here to learn english...and some stay on and do business...ganyan...

  19. what I hear though from some friends who were in the restaurant business and tourist agencies is that medyo matipid ang Koreans daw..they will bargain you to death..unlike Jap tourists who don't blink when you say X item costs Y pesos...hahaha!

yung din...they do come here to learn English...kaya nga sa Cebu ang dami rin...parang nanonood ka ng Korean telenovela when you go out..and then near the house of Sir B sa Tagaytay, there are Koreans also renting out houses etc. there...
