Channelnewsasia.com - Japan Hour

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/japanhour/highlights.htm
If I am at home during weekends, I try to catch the Japan Hour show - 7:30 pm on Saturday, or at 8 am (too early for me) or 1 pm on Sunday [Timezone GMT+8, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore].

It is not just because I've always liked travel shows or travel channels (waaah!..Skycable had one, but since it belonged to a higher-priced package I missed it after its trial run was finished).

It is not just because I enjoy seeing all that delectable food (remember that Japanese have probably perfected the art of food presentation) paraded before my ogling eyes and jaw-hanging visage.

And it is just not because I find it charming how pairs of grandma-grandson, siblings, son-mother, hubby-wife go to all these places (sometimes quite remote) such as onsens, springs, hotels, inns, gardens, mountains, parks and such and then ooh-and-ahh! over such splendors of nature, which are developed further into places we humans can rest comfortably in.

It is simply because I am such a lazy, hungry, comfort-driven person during weekends.

For me, what could be more satisfactory as a tribute to couch-potato-ness than watching all these interesting places from the comfort of your cushion at home, with a bowl of popcorn, bottles of pomegranate tea, peeled apples and feta cheese at your side?

its not always the case naman that I can watch this wherein I am doing nothing except eating ...

I can sometimes be found watching this show and my usual anime flicks, na ang beauty ko ay nag mu-multi-task -

nag-fold ng laundry, nag-iron ng clothes, nag-laundry (lucky the balcony where I do my laundry is near my angled tv), darning my socks (ehem), and even catching up on my reading...

  8. in the last couple of weeks or so, what the show has been featuring are people taking a train on different lines and just stopping by when something interests them along the way on the train track....

its certainly fun exploring something without any plan..so far I've seen a letter monument on a hill, shooting range, mask (for Noh) school, pagodas, free zoo to name a few (I fell asleep in one ep due to lack of sleep, but the subject was interesting hehehe)
