  9. It would be interesting to see how the other photos would look with this process.

  10. hmm...how about a sketch from you also? *wink*

  11. hmm...question po...comparing sketching from a picture, versus sketching based on a live model...is the former easier?

  12. Sketching from a picture is a lot easier than sketching live. For one, the model, even if she is good, cannot possibly hold a pose for a long time. Second, the artist himself must fix his view or perspective of the model to transpose it on paper or canvass. Dito napupunta ang husay ng artist. Since he cannot copy the scene as he sees it kasi nga nagiiba ng kaunti, he must be able to do the composite in his mind and, ergo, on the surface.

  13. There are different portraitures to be clear about it. We have, for instance, the works of the departed Onib Olmedo. Very grotesque, very distorted. But somehow he is able to capture the personality of the subject, subjectively. : ) There are the interpretation of BenCab that are rather soft but dynamic, truer to the picture as an ordinary viewer sees it.

  14. Cat, ang galing naman nito. Can this person do my head shot? I am really interested.

  15. hehe..Joey..galing lang yan sa photo mo...software gumawa nyan...so any picture kaya :-)

  16. hmm...unless ang model siguro natutulog and dead to the world, not even moving one inch for at least an hour...hahaha!

this would be really good if masama mo sketches in your bday celebration and show *wink, wink*

  17. for me I like truer to the picture, but I guess if the artist also knows the person a bit more, meron din silang interpretation added to the final portrait...

  18. Mga super luma meron. But you are giving me an idea. Hmmm.

  19. Yan ang napapansin ko sa mga "models" dito, puro pahiga. Nahihirapan kasi with standing or seating poses. My friend Nona, who is the head of the Bay Area Models' Guild, says that invariably the models that they end up with are either dancers or athletes. That is because they have the stamina to hold difficult poses. Standing still for 5 or 10 minutes is very difficult. What more if you twist your body, hold your chin up, etc.

  20. double hmmmm...*lightbulb flashes*

  21. *imagines if naka-pretzel position*

  22. That is what our model in Berkeley did. Standing up, legs apart parang astride, twisted her body, chin up, looked far away. And she held it for 10 minutes!

    ReplyDelete
  23. hmm...waaah! grabe...I can't even sit still for 5 seconds...

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOL!

my dad would agree with you *wink*
