so how are you guys there? how strong is the rain?
ReplyDeleteok, I believe in miracles...maybe they can cancel out each other? push each other away? *feeling arrrgh!*
ReplyDeleteit just entered the PAR Nonzki...so if one looks at the image of both Parma/Pepeng and Quedan/Melor (my goodness so many names)...its not converged...
ReplyDeletehowever, Melor is said to be influencing Parma..hence the latter is sort of stationary (its not moving forward to Taiwan or wherever)
ang ibig mo sabihin sana magsabunutan sila parang manghina..:) hehehe..sana nga..
ReplyDeleteakala ko Parma left na, Pumo"parma" pa pala siya with Melor..naks naman mukhang lovestory of two typhoons pa yata eto..sana ang result unconcentrated sila at mag disappear sa dagat..:)
makita mo sya dito when you open http://www.typhoon2000.ph/storm3.shtml...if you zoom on the image http://agora.ex.nii.ac.jp/digital-typhoon/region/pacific/2/images/640x480/latest.jpg
ReplyDeleteganun na nga...baka pwede silang mag-away..kaso baka magka-love at first sight...e mag-join pa..*ngeeh, inakupo*
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the link you've shared oo nga..pray that they won't resolve into one, I have the feeling they could destroy each other..
ReplyDeleteang track for Melor was supposedly Japan...
ReplyDeletewhat is happening, parang naka-queue tong mga bagyo to patungo Pinas ah...
Cuh..hwag naman sana..it moves and from afar it looks kind of near sa Pinas..but let's wait and hope that it would go astray..
ReplyDeletePlease stay in a safe place Cat!
ReplyDeletea comment from a friend of mine in FB...and something new I learned today...fujiwhara effect...
ReplyDeleteShem Cristobal commented on your status:
"ayon dito may mga instances na nagme-merge sila... http://www.facebook.com/l/8f627;en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujiwhara_effect
hopefully wag magyari kina Parma at Melor... tsk tsk tsk"
it would be nice to be on an airborne vehicle above the atmosphere and look at all these typhoons forming below...
ReplyDeleteI have something to pray deeply tonight..I fervently hope of no merginb bet. two cyclonic typhoons...
ReplyDeleteLatest tracking images indicate that Melor is now out of PAR and is racing towards Japan. Projections indicate it might even hit Tokyo. But tracking maps also confirm that Parma (Pepeng) has indeed made a U-turn and is again pounding the the northern part of Luzon (Ilocos Region in particular).
ReplyDeleteHowever, the feared merging of Melor and Parma has not happened. As a matter of fact, they appear to be headed in opposite directions.
In the meantime a new low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted near Guam. Although it is not yet anything like a storm, weathermen are closely watching the developments.

Thank you Lord. I don't ever want to experience something like that happening and hitting Phils.
ReplyDeletenag-weaken to Tropical Storm Pepeng daw...
hmm..may Fujiwhara effect ba na 3 or 4 mag-circle each other? or pang-2 lang sila?
Ang alam ko pang-dalawa lang ang Fujiwhara effect. Kung apat, baka 'twin Fujiwhara effect' ang tawag dun :-).
ReplyDelete*ngork* haha...
ReplyDeleteHere's the most recent sat image of the Pacific area:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.typhoon2000.ph/t2kgraphsat.gif
wow, incredible si Pepeng ha..walang kupas!
ReplyDeleteon another note, am glad Melor has moved...though I feel bad for Japan...
and my golly Chito...parang all these weather disturbances are sprouting like mushrooms after a night of lightning (ehe? correct ba?)
Hi Cat. Sa pagkaka-alam ko kasi, the Pacific Ocean area is something like a storm-womb, i.e. dito nabubuo or pinapang-anak ang mga bagyo. Unfortunately, the area kung saan napili ni mother nature na maging playground ng mga bagyo ay ang mga bansa along the Pacific Ocean eastern rim, and the Philippines, it seems, is dead center of the path* these storms take, on their way towards China where they eventually dissipate and die.

I just read you blog, and the picture you've included is indeed jaw-dropping...(kinikilabutan nga ako dito)...Philippines is smack-dab in the middle...
ReplyDelete:-) and I remember a co-employee (who lived in Slovakia, moved to England) who I've been trying to entice to visit the Philippines telling me - what? you want me to visit? (after Ketsana happened)...
so what? marami pa rin dito ang worth the risk of being always in the typhoon's path..
As I indicated in my blog, the season is not over yet. Per PAG-ASA records, the average number of typhoons that visit the archipelago annually is 25. Ondoy and Pepeng are numbers 19 and 20, respectively. I hope this year, the last 5 will no longer materialize or if they do, sana minimal na lang ang destructive effects. But my level of confidence on that is quite low. So we should all be better prepared. The month of October is usually when the season ends. I hope the season-end episodes (sounds like a TV series), come early or do not come at all.
ReplyDelete*shivers*
ReplyDeletethe most prevalent memory in my mind of a typhoon was Ruping (Typhoon Mike) hitting Cebu in the month of November...the day after one of my good friend's birthday.
For the first time ever I experienced no electricity and no water. Luckily, we had a friend who had an artesian well. So we were able to take a full bath.
Parang phone lines lang yata ang pinakamabilis na working.
I remember also that we were really were careful with water...whenever we took baths at our house, the used bath water was saved para pang-flush sa toilet :-)
But, I could still be thankful. Even if my beloved chico tree was uprooted (it was right beside our gate), in about less than a week, things were almost back to normal sa neighborhood namin.
I hope and pray di na aabot for 25 typhoons...baka naman sa tapang ni Ondoy, at pabalik-balik ni Pepeng dito...kasama na don...(one can only hope)
