I so love Pugad Baboy. Brosia is da best!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pugadbaboy.pardinas.net
Cath .... for your info , Pol MEDINA is a good friend ... kaBARKADA and neighbor !
ReplyDeletehttp://jlunelp.multiply.com/photos/album/131/i_got_a_DOUBLE_XX_Rating_#
Is this the one with that letter found in a bar in Malate?
ReplyDeletePinoy humor :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you liked this particular comic strip...e akala ko nga wala kang ka-komiks-komiks...e di ba...high-end ka? mwahaha!
kidding aside..all the characters are fun, fun...though I admit, I love that deadpan delivery of Brosia...ehehe..
omg, Kuya Nel!
ReplyDeleteI just checked out your link...ang kyot-kyot nyo po (di ko sinasabi saan..don ba sa drawing or sa actual..ahahaha!)
malay natin, bagay if mahaba ang buhok...
aCUTE sa drawing .... *KYUT sa personal ! *linya ni Val [hiniram]
ReplyDeletePol Medina graduated architecture , I convinced him to take up Arch instead of Fine Arts. Lahat silang magkakapatid are very good friends, as in childhood friends. As you can see, almost all his comic characters are real & mostly live in our street .... Tata MADS is my Dad. Minsan, Pol gets his jokes during our **get together [**subtle way of saying INUMAN sessions] ... & after 1 day or so ... lalabas na sa Diyaryo yon. Natural na KOMIKO yon si Pol.
Hayayayay...super pulutan yata kayo no?...that's the best part of the baboy...ginagawa nilang masarap na chitsharon....tawag namin sa Pangasinan noon ay "tulapo" at ang mga nagpupulutan ay sinasawsaw nila sa maanghang na sukang may labuyo...yummy talaga...pero grabe sa arteries natin yan!!!...once in a whileis ok i guess!..hehehe
ReplyDeletePugad Baboy as in Pig Pen"? :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a quite a cool caricature of you guys hanging out. Bakit walang Chicharong Baboy?...LOL!
ReplyDeleteSomewhat like that Joey .... cause most of the characters are MATABA. Pugad means lair or den.
ReplyDeletenaKAIN na Joey !
ReplyDeletenaku KYUT Val will be tickled pink on the borrowed line *wink*
ReplyDeletemas maganda nga ganong gaw ni Pol Medina..not just true to life na Pinoy humor...e na-test pa sa inyo...hehehe!
uhm..Angie, wouldn't it be somewhat hysterical if as you asked eto ang mga Pugad Baboy inhabitants na baboy tapos kumakain ng baboy (chicharon)? di ba yan parang cannibalism?
ReplyDeleteeeek...my mind goes somewhere else and nag shutdown na...
That's what I thought Nel. Teka muna, hindi ka naman mataba doon sa letrato?
ReplyDeleteBURP!!!!
ReplyDeleteextra lang ako ... I was called "safeguard" in the comic strip.
ReplyDeleteOh well, i must have been confused of the term used...what's "Pugad Baboy" anyway?...i thouught all the while, it's the part of the pig's body on the belly part of a young pig...not after breast feeding...that's what confused me!....hehehe...while what you probably meant is the pig's den!!!...yak-yaky-yak...that's beyond me!...hahaha
ReplyDeleteBtw, i really like your profile...so sophiticated, lovely & very rich in colour...
yeah, I was wondering bakit Safeguard ang gamit na term?
ReplyDeletethanks Angie...
ReplyDeleteI don't really know the literal meaning of Pugad Baboy pero I thought kc parang pugad is yung home nila...so either pig pen..or basta lugar ng baboy...and I think kc mga chara dito mga baboy...
There was this detective show during those times where the BIDA had a teckie sidekick who was confined in a wheelchair , his name was lifeguard. KAya yon , ako naman si safeguard.
ReplyDeletep.s. hmmm .... Dont get the wrong idea CatH .... Panay akong naliligo !!! hehehe
anong detective show yon po?
ReplyDeletenaku, ready na sana ako tumawag sa inyo sa Kuya Safeguard...
Senior Moments ... The guy posing in the wheelchair is really disabled. Pag pasensiyahan mo na, really I forgot the show.
ReplyDeleteok lang po..baka di ko naabutan...(walang hidden meaning yan ha)...kaya di ko rin maisip kung ano :-)
ReplyDeleteBetter yet, I'll ask Pol, I'm sure he'll know, CatH.
ReplyDeletehehhe..thanks Kuya Nel...sorry, medyo curious lang talaga po ang pusa sometimes...
ReplyDeleteI like your being so curious nga CatH.
ReplyDeleteCuriosity kills the Cat. There's a saying.
ReplyDeleteNatanong ko na si Pol .... Ayon kay Pol ...
ReplyDeleteWisedog (a spoof of Wiseguy) is an adventure story arc of the Philippine comic strip series Pugad Baboy, created by Pol Medina Jr. and originally published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. This particular story arc lasts 17 strips long. In 1992, the story arc was reprinted in Pugad Baboy 3, the third book compilation of the comic strip series.
A spate of pet dog disappearances has the Pugad Baboy residents worried; a big-time dognapper is suspected to be the culprit. They finally bring in a "deep penetration agent" from the OCB (Organized Canine Bureau, a spoof of the Organized Crime Bureau, a fictional branch of the FBI in the Wiseguy TV program) to investigate the incidents - Polgas, alias Wisedog. To maintain communication with HQ, Tata Mads' son, Asonel, alias Safeguard (a spoof of Lifeguard, Vinnie Terranova's contact in Wiseguy) is assigned to be Wisedog's contact.
So, in real life, I am the son of Amado Pascual, my childhood friends call me Jesunel, pronounced yesunel, kaya lang at times they'd tease me by pronouncing it ASONEL instead.
The character in WISEGUY is Jim Byrnes ... http://www.jimbyrnes.org/
An American-born actor long in Canada, Jim Byrnes is best known for playing 'Lifeguard', the communications expert and link to the "organization" on the CBS series "Wiseguy" (1987-1990), and as Joe Dawson, one of the Watchers tracking the immortals on "Highlander" (syndicated, from 1993-98). A handsome man, often bearded, Byrnes lost both his legs when, while helping push a stalled truck on a highway, he was hit from behind by a car. After recuperating, he pursued work as a musician, which also led to the acting career for which he had once trained.
Ok ba sa research Cath ??
ok lang..a cat has nine lives ika nga..
ReplyDeleteuy, uy, uy..
ReplyDeletenaabutan ko yan..yung Wiseguy..kc I remember Ken Wahl (may isang movie pa nga sya as a war verteran..parang si Cheryl Ladd yata ang kaparis)...love story konti yon ah...
sorry di ko lang ma remember si Jim Byrnes of his Lifeguard character (ayos, nakapokus teenage hormones este..college hormones ko kay Ken...) wahaha!
very good po ang research skills nyo...*claps hands*
ReplyDeletewhile I could not remember Jim B per se don sa Wiseguy..yung fez nya naman ay familiar..parang nasa Sanctuary tv show sha (though I dont' follow it...I usually turn to Sci-Fi na cable channel eh)..
shoot..kawawa naman on how he lost his legs..pero ang galing din ng pagbangon nya...
hirap talaga pag famous...tsk..tsk...
ReplyDeleteWhen I want to find out more about something or a person, I'll really do everything to find out more about the subject, CAtH.
ReplyDeleteLife goes on whatever situation one is in ...
Tatay ko yong famous, Cath ...
ReplyDeletePurple Hearts yata yong movie na maglkasama sila Wahl & Ladd ...
ReplyDeletei too am a fan of pugad baboy...nung wala pang libro, i would clip the comic strip off the newspaper and keep it...some i sent it over to my friend in the states...ganyan kami ka die hard. then when the book started, i collected them all!
ReplyDeleteabah..pwede hiram?
ReplyDeletehehehe...seriously though..sometimes nga umandar na pagka-older ko..have more difficulty in reading the lines...pero I persevere because of the giggles and guffaws rumbling out of my chest afterwards..
sure! will get the books from my brother who also borrowed all 21 books...21 nga ba? i forget...
ReplyDeleteGrabe !! Kumpleto nga !
