ReplyDeleteDapat naman isang backpack lang for any trip. Could be a weekender backpack or a big one, but stick to just one for easy mobility. Enjoy Batanes.

ReplyDelete• Gear check – Time to check out if your gear is complete. We suggest the following list of things to bring:
* Camera (s)
* Batteries (while electric outlets are available, we recommend bringing extra batteries in case you run out of power during the tour)
* Chargers (for camera, mobile phone, other electronics)
* Memory Cards
* Tripod
* Camera Bag
* Filters (We recommend you bring a Circular Polarizer and Graduated Neutral Density Filter, an additional Neutral Density Filter would also be great)
* Dry Bag (We’ll be crossing over to Sabtang which is a splashy ride, so bring a reliable one)
* Flashlights or Headlamps
* Laptops/Netbooks (This is optional but you may want to take advantage of the free wi-fi at our place of accommodation)
• Clothes and weather protection – we’ll be doing quite a lot of walking around so it’s a good idea to bring light clothes that are breathable. PAGASA forecast that El Niño will still be around June but who knows what the weather will bring. So don’t forget to pack either an umbrella or rain jacket, just to be sure. Bring comfortable footwear. We recommend wearing flipflops/sandals when going to Sabtang.
• Carry-on luggage allowance – only 7 kilograms are allowed with the dimensions not exceeding 54cm x 38cm x 23cm (length x width x height). We suggest you carry your camera bag with you along with other fragile electronic items like laptops.
• Check-in baggage allowance – Seair strictly limits only 10 kilograms per passenger so please limit your luggage to absolute essentials. Don’t forget to leave room for your pasalubongs.
For more information on luggage and baggage allowance for Batanes Flights, please visit http://www.flyseair.com/node/229
Tip: make a list and check it twice so you can weed out the non-essentials. Some stuff like shampoos and other toiletries as well as bottled water can be bought in Batan so you may opt to buy them there instead of toting them along on the plane.
• Essentials – taking any special medicine/s? Remember to bring an ample supply as there’s no Mercury Drug or big drugstores in Batanes. While your main meals and accommodations are already inclusive, you may want to shop for pasalubongs so bring extra cash with you. Most establishments only accept cash and the only ATM in the whole province may go off-line.
