Saw an excerpt of "Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbo" (from the year 2010 episode) on a channel here in Cebu City - concentrated on the Southern Heritage trail. I think I will try it if there are no elections or any other "pasikat" events..it was a bit boring seeing all these politicians doing an endless loop of song-and-dance numbers when all I want to see is the town and its attractions. *disgruntled hiss*

Politics & politicos are very irritating...to the max!
ReplyDeleteI can understand that they would use this kind of medium to promote their "wares" but goodness...I wish somebody can do it with more class and discretion...
ReplyDeleteNaku kung pa-class bka ma-alienate ang masa. Hehe.
ReplyDeletetrue....but I didn't like their very blatant promotion of themselves...
ReplyDeleteI wanted to see and have info on the towns themselves, not to see these politicians dancing vigorously or singing with feelings...
e akala ko may nakita ako sa loob ng churches or more info on the mangroves...anovayan? nakita ko mga mukha at katawan ng mga politico...ngork...
Hahaha. Kawawa rin naman when you look at it. they really have to prostitute themselves and make themselves clowns just to be noticed.
ReplyDeleteif they want to be noticed, they really ought to set themselves apart from the herd...nag-blur na sa mga mata ko ang kanilang mga anyo...parang everybody looked the same..hahaha...
ReplyDeleteano fa! hay! buti na lang malapit na yang matapos...
ReplyDeletesome people may miss the circus...
ReplyDeleteDapat doon ka mag suroy suroy sa colon, parian, iyan ang ating lugar ng ating famous na Hero of Cebu our Great Grandfather lucio Uy Herrera, merong ng monumento ginawa ng ating Tourism Minister Ace Durano, as of the of the tourist destination of the philippines. i was trying to go there last year to incude into my traveling itinerary but maybe do it this coming November commemorating the heroes of the katipuneros in Honor of Andres Bonifacio and also Hero Leon kilat, at least hindi boring, to try to look for the history of our roots of our relatives.
ReplyDeleteeh? Terry, am I right in my understanding you are saying nay monumento si Lolo Lucio? morag wala yata...the only thing I can remember is this big bandera sa Ayala before about Cebu Katipuneros and he was listed there...kutob ra dinha akong hibaw-an :-)
ReplyDeleteCat, may i was wrong in interpreting an email that was send to me, who was a second cousin of ours, i met her also in facebook, but she is real and she has so many several convincing photos about our heritage but maybe no monumento, kagaya ng kapatid ng late lola natin na si Judge Andres Borrromeo. ako nahibaw-an lang nako sa emails, so i am not one hundred percent sure...
ReplyDeletehi Terry...I think Judge Andres Borromeo had a statue..but that was in Surigao if memory serves me right...
ReplyDeleteI will ask Dad once I get back to Cebu..I remember hearing him say something about these ancestors...but I only remember bits and pieces...sayang, somebody really should take care of the Herrera side ....at least si Marc naa na sa Borromeo nag-trace...
