A hasty presentation about me and my country

Since my team is geographically dispersed from North America, Latin America, Belgium and last but not the least, with me in the Philippines, we hardly get to see each other..and face-to-face meetings seems to be a distant dream fading into the mist of cost-cutting.

Once in a while, we do presentations about ourselves to give the other members a chance to see us in photos and know more about our countries and our particular selves.

This was one presentation I made hastily today and which I presented with a nice sort of speech during our regular phone conference.

Aw...too bad I didn't record what I said (I can't remember it now but I felt somewhat like an employee of the Department of Tourism...LOL).

The transition effects I added only after the presentation as I used a pdf file instead of powerpoint as I did a lot of solo talking.

  8. hmm...I think we went a little bit overboard in our meeting, so I used the last 12 minutes to present...it was a bit rushed, but since I talked fast and didn't allow them to ask anything..ayos na...LOL

  9. 12 minutes for 9 slides = 1.33 minutes per slide! You must be one speed-talker, Cat.

  12. at that point, that is the beauty of phone conferences, I can't see them and they are on mute (sa phone)...so I can imagine what I want as their reactions...LOL

  14. nice presentation Cat, and may I share the idea to BlastAsia, u know that we have been dealing with partners from all over the world and its probably a nice idea to kick off any project with a presentation of the team members. Somehow u know when clients come over to Manila to meet the team, that's when the real teamwork happens between people working together but situated accross continents. Sometimes our team find it hard to start a momentum wherein they would really collaborate.

  15. That would be helpful for your situation.

As it is, working nowadays with a global company, where teams are virtual instead of being co-located, you have the extra challenge of getting the teams to mesh (well, even with processes and procedures to follow and team discipline, its really better for the team members to be more aware of each other than just a name or handle you chat or talk to).

go-go! I know it will be fun!
