Get an aswering machine. Mura na lang ngayon ang mga yan.
ReplyDeletesayang nga eh..dapat nakipag-swap ako sa dad ko with the phone unit...their cordless speakerphone is the same as mine except for the answering machine function...kc newer model sa kanila ang binili ko...
ReplyDeletebut the funny thing is..supposedly only few folks would know my home phone number...I usually give out my cell number and not the latter...
e dun tumatawag tong mga taong to....akala ko pa naman emergency sa bahay namin sa Cebu...grrrr...
but I understand naman they have to make a living..fine...I commiserate..pero san ba manners nyan if sinabi mo na natutulog ka...blah-blah pa rin...isnt' the best thing to do (as an agent selling) would be to apologize and try again later?
Have you ever filled out application forms, .e.g. credit card, passport, bank account, blood test or medical tests, or raffle tickets, etc.? Do you fill-up online surveys, or online applications? Do you know what they do with your personal info?
ReplyDeletenaka meron pa nga nyan sabihan ka--di ba dun sa form u fill up na pwede kang tawagan.bonnga di ba?
ReplyDeletehow about a heartfelt thank you, then, sorry sorry, then hang up?
ReplyDeletesure, but w/ my cellphone number usually...bihirang-bihira ang house number coz for one, wala naman ako dyan palagi to answer it...and I know that if somebody calls me don, usually parenthood...the rest, cellphone yan (mas masarap din cellphone hehehe..makikita ko sinong na miss-call)...
ReplyDeleteoh yes, I know what happens, I used to work for a client of ours who worked for one of the call centers here (which shall remain unnamed), we developed their system...and one thing I noticed, they had this huge excel files they wanted us to load by batches into their database which had names and numbers....who of course the agents call :-)
of course, binibili nila lista ;-)
at ilang beses na ba tayo na humuholog ng calling cards natin sa mga fishbowls during mga conferences?
sana sa susunod cellphone ko na lang...pwede pa akong magsabi..low-batt....
mas maigi sana if tong phone ko makikita ko sinong tumatawag...no...on second thought...i-unplug ko na nga before ako matulog...bahala na if may sunog sa baba and they are asking us to leave the building...ngek!
kaya nga usually I leave my office phone number..hahaha..puro voice mail lang kc wala ako don (remember yung mga raffles natin sa MOA? remember sabi ko I was told I won? remember sabi ko pwede lang ako Friday? abah..di na tumawag ulit hehehe)
ReplyDeleteusually kc am too polite to just hang up and unplug the phone...
ReplyDeleteI usually explain patiently and with much logic why I can't accept or be thankful for their offer...(the list so far that day was: aircon cleaning, bed/sofa/furnishing cleaning, membership in a chain of hotels and yung sa PLDT na tumatawag lang to give you an update, yung automated)
The most annoying to me is when they call at dinner time :( one time someone called and I made fun of them LOL..I simply said...no speak english dis da bebesiter...and my hubby one time told someone, can I have your number and call you back at your dinnertime??? LOL..
ReplyDeleteay..oo grabeng tele-sellers yata sa US ...LOL
ReplyDeletecge nga next time mag-drama ako..magpapanggap akong answering machine ...."You have reached mailbox number 666...you have 6 seconds to leave your message...otherwise, Satan and his minions will pay you a visit..."
tingnan natin if di ba sila magkalampugan nyan...
What!!! that indeed is annoying...tsk tsk tsk
ReplyDeleteI receive sales calls on my mobile phones, but I often tell them I am in a meeting or busy. In my case, they are always polite and say sorry and say goodbye.
ReplyDeletesiguro cheapskate yung nagbebenta sa akin...ayaw tumawag sa cellphone....mwahaha!
ReplyDeleteHere's a couple of ways to get back at phone solicitors:
ReplyDeleteWhen you naswer the phone and it's a telemarketing call, pretend you can't hear the caller. Just keep saying 'hello, hello, hello, hello, then hang up.
Say Hello, yes, could you hold for a sec? Then just lay the handset down and wait. The caller will wait, and wait, and wait until he gets fed up and hangs up. You'll hear an audible click when he does.
but what if he calls again? dapat talaga may caller id sa phones dito..or yeah, answering machine..(or cheapest, unplug the phone hehe).
ReplyDeletehehe..and hopefully for the 2nd case, they won't ever call back..
Answer hello, hello hello, hello again. hahaha
ReplyDeletekakaloka... I don't envy them their jobs..and I don;t like to be on the receiving end of their calls....but cge, tingnan natin..maybe next time...pagsabi lang kung saan sya, e diretso na ako goodbye..walang hello...*grin*
