I recommend to people to try and come to Takayama and not just Kyoto and Tokyo when they come to Japan...its super nice here...easy to navigate town, and my train trip earlier from Toyama to Inotani to here thru local train was an extra treat! The local train let us pass by tons and tons of beautiful autumn scenery in the mountains, that for some time I was just gaping at the view...
ReplyDeleteadventure! the train connection I did from Kanazawa to Takayama, I would not recommend to everyone unless you are ready to sprint and have nerves of steel!
ReplyDeletei dream of train rides in autumn...must be awesome...good for you!
ReplyDeletethanks po! cge, I hope and pray you can visit this place soon...and I can help you plan the trip to this place if you want to get tips :-)
ReplyDeletewill definitely ask you for pointers...thanks...sige lakad na baka maiwan ka ng tren. :)
ReplyDeleteReady to sprint? So how did your sore knee do?
ReplyDeleteplease don't even joke about such a thing po :-)
ReplyDeleteeveryday may reservation na ako sa ibat ibang town, e cancel yan ay 100 percent na bawas...nay!
the lucky thing is that a passing official was good enough to look thru his booklet and advise me on the platforms...2 trains kc local train.....
ReplyDeleteimagine going up a flight of stairs, walking, then going down another flight of stairs to get to the other train, and the connection was to be done in 5 minutes.....I clung to the handrail and hoisted the bag...and puffed to a couple of ladies who assured me it was the right train...
5 seconds later..sarado ang pinto...ngeeeh..if I had missed that connection, di pa naman frequent ang trips...hay...
sore knee is still bad...I took another picture of it...para syang crocheted purple tablecloth na rose pattern...ehehe..
the one thing w/c saved me also was the leather pants I wore...ang ginaw dito..huhuhu... bahala na if sometimes it touches my sore knee as long as di lang ginawin and mag-ache..
You're one brave girl, Cat! Umuwi ka na!
ReplyDeletewaaah....Mommy Loy, its so cold na parang na miss ko init sa Cebu...hehhe....
ReplyDeleteI had this mad idea of visiting at least one of their morning markets here......mamyang 7 am...but its so comfortably warm under the blanket (nikulo mora ug usa ka gantang sa futon)
