ReplyDeleteHida Beef (top-quality beef) - Because of the excellent quality and flavor of the beef from Hida steers, raised in the meadows of Hida’s plateau, it is the best beef for meat dishes such as steak and sukiyaki. Dairy products are also known for their high quality
Ah, so you arrived at a new destination then.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
John!!!
ReplyDeletethat "beef melts in the mouth" is not a myth!
do visit this place and eat Hida beef so we can compare beefy notes on your next trip! October would be ok here, November is too cold...
oh yes, each day is a new town :-)
I had thought it would be tha s why I've always gone in October while it is still bearable even in Sapporo, tho' only just.
ReplyDeleteI'll think about the beef while I wait.
Hugs.
Beef melts in your mouth is a strange but exquisite feeling.
ReplyDeleteand even pork din pala po...
ReplyDeleteI never experienced that pork melts in your mouth (yung beef kc, c/o Helene yon sa Singapore..hehe..when I visited her..she prepared wagyu)...
so far the tempura that I really liked was the one in Hakone..
the beef here in Takayama...
though even the dango and mochi anywhere here is ok...
yeah, I bet in the further towns of Northern Japan its much colder than now...
ReplyDeleteactually its only here that I've felt the worst cold so far...but could be exacerbated by the rain..
hmm...wonder why they can't do wagyu-thingie w/ pigs...
ReplyDeleteand maybe chickens? haha!
thumbs up for Takayama - well-lighted na streets and shops maski cerrado na...lots of preserved old houses...
ReplyDeletehay..sayang di ko nakita ang temples...but even if I was willing to wake up early to try trekking there and to their local morning markets..it was entirely too cold..I could see my breath freeze in the air when I peered at the window at 6 a.m....brrrrrrr.
