Is it self-serving if I say congratulations to my team? :-) The HP GSR team has been selected for recognition as a FY11 Winning Edge winner! Congratulations to fellow members in US (Donna, Marjorie and Brad), Costa Rica (Jose) and Belgium (Hetty).

    Any achievement is a plus not only to the team or company. It's a plus for society. It is always something to crow about. In these times when good positive news is hard to come by, anything that brings a smile or sense of satisfaction is welcome news, self-serving or not.

    actually since HP is good about measuring stuff...for some time naman (ayan, may konting crowing ha) my team has been getting top marks due to its evaluation (feedback from customer and other teams translates to numbers which are used in graphs, reports and all that)...

    kaso nga lang, di naman masyadong nakikita sa rewards...though once in a while may recognition (unofficial mostly)...oh well..basta natuwa ako on a rainy day...

    Emotional rewards or psychic satisfaction is totally different from the material counterparts. That's human nature. You only need to see the delighted face of a child when you praise his/her for a good job, i.e. you don't actually give them monetary or any material reward for them to feel good.

    But of course, you and your team are not a bunch of wide-eyed naive kids. Your guys have families to support, rentals to pay, etc., etc. Under these circumstances, it's good to remember a Filipino saying: "Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga."
