Korea tickle moments: "OMG! he is eating so much!" (a friend's comment on seeing a Korean cute yuppie who was apparently munching on a burger and then a sandwich for dinner). Less than 30 minutes later, said cute guy (wearing slightly nerdy pair of glasses) comes up to one in our group to comment, "I heard what you were saying..." — at 롯데마트 서울역점 (Lotte Mart Seoul Station).

Ha ha ha, that is why one needs be careful what you say out loud. That happened to me one time in one of our tours thinking not everybody in our group could understand Ilocano. It turned out the person I was referring to was from Tarlac, the Ilocano part of Tarlac and his wife was from the Ilocano side of Pangasinan. Embarassing moment. But in the end we all ended up friends and close.

ReplyDeletethis experience was compounded pa when another companion said after moving to another seat to provide the girl who commented with a better view of the said guy, "Ah, the guy with the funny glasses?"....ayos...
I also have seen friends who commented about somebody in a restaurant not knowing the person was at their back at another table....hehehe
for you Tita Lou, I can't imagine you saying anything outlandish about other folks in a tour...lol
I was commenting in Ilocano what a slow foot he was while we were waiting in line, yon pala Ilocano sila.

Actually we were all Pinoys from here. In the end we became friends kasi aside from the couple, his 3 sisters were with them. By the time we reached Rome, they shared their canned goods with us in their hotel room, we just bought some water and bread from the store.

I even have the thought that siguro sa Pinas, di ganon ka helpful, but if you go abroad, and a fellow Pinoy (who lives/works/stays in that place0 knows or overhears you as a Pinoy, they will really go out of their way to even help you. Ilang kwento na nadinig kong ganon...
