I would have simply advised you to stay in bed and get plenty of fluids and rest. But since you've been travelling and has been to several destinations in the last few weeks, I will suggest you get yourself checked-out by a doctor. If you have a medical card, that would be best. Just like your computer, you must have yourself checked for virus from time to time (regularly is better).
ReplyDeleteget rested & be well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chito..that made me think and look at myself after brushing my teeth...
ReplyDeleteshoot, I have red spots and some rashes...uh-oh..am going to the nearest clinic..
Don't want to scare you but - http://familydoctor.org/familydoctor/en/health-tools/search-by-symptom/skin-rashes.html
ReplyDeleteTry it. It's fun :-) But may I suggest you do No. 48.
Am at clinic now. There is one childhood sickness I have not experiened and di rin ako magpa vaccine ever. The doctor just confirmed it - chicken pox :(
ReplyDeleteFrom what I know, it takes some time before chicken pox manifests itself visually. So, meron ka na niyan mga a few days ago pa. I also know what causes it - you must've been eating too much chicken lately...
ReplyDeleteThat's not good news. Nandiyan ka na rin lang naman sa doctor, find out what vaccines you also need (adult vaccines, of course).
ReplyDeletetxt me if the doctor doesnt giv u oral meds for chickenpox. Acyclovir 800 mg tab 5xday
ReplyDeletehi Doc PHilip...
ReplyDeletetiming na timing..she did give me an RX for the Acyclovir and warned me its expensive - 5 days a day for 1 week..so #35 tablets.
Buti na lang pumasok ang text mo when I was at Mercury Drug.
May generic brand daw, pero 400 mg. So I bought those, i-doble ko lang at least..kc umabot yata ng Php9K *faints* for the Acyclovir when I asked the attendant.
tapos may cloxacillin (antibiotics) for 1 week and hydroxyzine din (pero the latter, di ko muna ginawa 1 week kc baka after 4 days e walang itch). Tapos caladryl calamine (well, may stock naman ako nyan).
Anyway, the bad thing of course is since I am isolated for 2 weeks at least e mahirap kumain ng fresh at masustansyang pagkain, so I've resigned myself to doing canned goods muna for this stint. At least may laman ang tyan :-)
Am glad wala ako sa Cebu coz I hate for my mom to have it...di rin yata sya nakapagchicken pox eh.
the funny thing about this?
ReplyDeletebaka daw imported ang aking chicken pox :-)
2 weeks ago e Korea ako eh...so either nakuha ko don or sa airplane trip .....sosyal!
cpox can be very serious for small infants & elderly, bec of complications...better hav ur mom vaccinated.
ReplyDeletea year or two ago, ayon..mga flu vaccines etc.
ReplyDeletebut you know, di naman ibig sabihin di na ako tatablan..baka for that strain..so I quit having myself vaccinated.
even for chicken pox, e ganon pa rin, you can still have it even after being vaccinated..so I said parang sayang naman pera...
I don't want to sound zenophobic but I suspected that you got it in your Korea trip. I think there's a Korean conspiracy to take over our country by spreading deadly virus. Did you know that was how the Spanish virtually eliminated the Aztecs? They brought along with them the flu virus and unwittingly wiped out the Aztec race.
ReplyDeleteLevity aside though, I agree with DocPhil. You should have your Mom checked out as well and have her get a vaccine.
ReplyDeleteahahaha...cguro nga sa Korea ito..kc yun lang maisip ko 2 weeks ago eh and for the rest of the time, sa bahay lang ako...except for Saturday last week na kumain ako ng churros con chocolate and Sunday night dinner of chelo kebabs..coz I was really tired of cooking na...
ReplyDeleteyun nga, pagdating ko sa Cebu..*knock on wood* coz I want her to have an eye operation (medyo filmy kc..I forgot the term for that)...tapos yung sa haert and lungs nya pa pa check din..kaso nga e matigas ulo..yun nga sabi ko wag na ako antayin e may ka batch ako sa high school na doctors na kilala nya..e ayaw..
ReplyDeleteI went back out and bought Virest for the cream. Am beginning to get suspicious looks...haha..at balot na balot ako
ReplyDeleteGet a lot of rest so the virus will not consume you. And DON"T scratch yourself too much. Korean brand pa naman yang chicken pox mo. Take care, Cat.
ReplyDeletethanks Mommy Loy (woke up for my meds).
ReplyDeleteam going back to my original way of eating dinner and midnight snack no matter how late na (galing Korea kc I have been so tired, parang bagsak bed walang pakialam about food)......got to recover fast...
maubos ko tong stash ko dito, baka mag stock up na lang ako ng oatmeal....:-)|
Ha ha ha, this is so funny.
ReplyDeleteBut kidding aside, take care of yourself. Take plenty of liquid and get rested.
O, eto ka na naman. Recovery na nga lang nagmamadali ka pa. You really have to take it easy Cat. Di puedeng madali-in ang sakit lalo na yang chicken pox. Your body is telling you to take it easy. Pag sobrang pagod, bumababa ang resistensya ng katawan. Chicken pox, if not managed well, could have some negative long lasting effects. Baka di ka magka-baby.
ReplyDeleteThis cannot be over-emphasized.
ReplyDeleteI talked to her yesterday night..she had it na pala in her childhood...
ReplyDelete*sigh*
bakit kc di ako binigyan ng Dios ng chicken pox virus when I was a child....waaaah....
oh, am cutting back a bit...I did file for sick leave po for at least a week but I will doing sporadic work in between kc bad timing due to end of FY deadlines namin...pero at least no pressure muna with the other work....
ReplyDeletemy worry more these days is running out of supplies....
am not sure if may online na grocery shopping and delivery dito...
for one, I should have brought some chlorine bleach and more food but fresh fruits and veggies can only last so long ...di naman 2 weeks...oh well, baka by next week pwede na ako mag face mask, long sleeve, hat and gloves (ay, wala pala akong gloves)
kc takot ako sa itchiness....baka ma-scratch ko...esp now that I've hunted and sweated (itch, itch) looking for gloves so I don't inadvertently scratch myself...nauubos na calamine lotion ko and my apples will last till Saturday :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't want to get sick and stay in bed...
as for the last line, mukhang mas weighty yata ang sperm donor (or contributor of the other chromosome) kaysa me not being able to get pregnant coz of having chicken pox :-)
Mag adopt ka na lang :-) ala Madonna, Oprah and Brangelina.
ReplyDeletecge.....kapag maging celebrity ako ;-)
