Congrats Boboy!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations Boboy!
ReplyDeleteYou guys were missed. Che, Choie, Marie, and I (with my wife and son), were there. Of course, the glam couple, Hugz and Gwiz were there to greet us. Wished you were all there. It was fun mixing with the "art crowd." The girls even had their portraits...este, caricatures pala, drawn. We missed though most of the food. Kasalanan kasi nitong si Choie. Inaya kami agad dun sa exhibit room. Tapos nag-chikahan. Pero it was more than enough. Grabe kasi yung trapik papunta dun. Ako mismo was about an hour late. Na-abutan ko na si Choie dun. Tapos dumating si Marie. Tapos si Che. Kung nagpunta ka, Cat, this would have never happened, i.e. miss the food, hehehe... Each of us bought a copy of the book entitled, "The Old Men and The Sex." There a lot of old men. But I seem to have missed the sex...hehehe...
ReplyDeleteThe book is collection 46 essay/articles/bogs by Hugz and is dedicated two women who, according to Hugz, had "big hearts and lust for life" - his wife Gwiz and his mother Betty. Halos na-ubos yung books dun. Of course, you can buy them too in bookstores. But it would not contain a signed and very personalized dedication from the author himself :-)
By the way, nagpasabi daw si MeAnn na pupunta din siya sa book launching. Actually, hanggang ngayon yata hini-hintay siya dun, hahahahaha.... baka abutan niya dun yung book launching ng "Of Senior Moments and After Sex." :-)
kc naman multi-tasking..dapat kc kumuha kayo ng food muna, and if pwede dalhin habang umikot sa exhibit room e ok na :-)
ReplyDeletefor sure, e ako pa gutom na gutom..have been existing on oatmeal and gruel for a while...
I really wish I could have been there, but June 8 (today) ang aking clearance sa medical certificate...at saka as usual 8 pm e may confcall ang aking spotty self.
akala ko nga e pupunta si Meann kc nga sa msg nya sa FB...and I think from what Marie had posted e mabilis lang ba sya?
knowing Pilipino time, baka ok na rin maski 1 hour late, I just can't believe nobody brought a camera! Anobayan? its like hanky, watch and wallet...dapat bitbit palagi :-)
baka may post-book launching na get-together? *wink*
ReplyDeleteYes, Marie like came and went. Had a chat with her though for some time. I think she had other friends who were waiting for her somewhere in BGC kaya maaga siya umalis.
ReplyDeleteOk lang naman mag-diet sya. Pero huwag naman sya mang-damay. LOL....
ReplyDeletesi F8 and Gari, di pumunta? parang unusual..or baka nasa Cebu pa...
ReplyDeleteNope. No Gary. No Faith.
ReplyDeleteI want a copy of the book!
ReplyDeletenaku, parang unusual na di pupunta e art yan...baka wala nga dito sa Manila
ReplyDeleteis it the part of the old men, the sex or the pictures kaha Mommy Loy which would be of the utmost interest to you for that book? tee-hee!
ReplyDeleteAll of the above, girl!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteCat, where the heck was your LX5?
This was another great milestone in Boboy's life. Kaya pala walang photo postings dito.
I really wish I was there to have documented this event but obviously, I cannot.
He is a photographer and never leaves his house without his camera. I hope so.
Maybe some photos will show up from Boboy soon.
If I made it there, kasama na run ako sa mga old folks...and I would have missed it too...he he he:-)
ReplyDeleteJoey, I posted in FB and MP beforehand...
ReplyDeleteNagka-chicken pox ako...so di ako nakapunta sa book launch ni Sir B :-)
I don't think people would have liked it if after nagka book launch may mahawaan..
...baka The Old Men and the Sex and the Pox and labas...LOL
Oh, so you had a "Cluck Cluck Disease". Honga, baka "The Old Men and the Sex and the Pox" and labas...:-)
ReplyDeleteOh my. I hope you're over and done with that.
Thanks, Cat.
Still in Cebu! Texted Boboy that we would have been there if we were back.
ReplyDeleteas I thought...it seemed very out of character if di kayo magpapakita ganitong eksena :-)
ReplyDeletemiss ya!
hi Joey,
ReplyDeleteThanks! spotty pa rin, pero at least I got through it and survived on my own.
While I missed my mom, I certainly could not go home to Cebu and I didn't want to infect her (pwede kc mag recur even if one had it before..and she had it when she was a child) - so ayon, did all my chores and did some work (due to prior deadlines) kc in the long run e sino pa nga naman ang gagawa...haha!
Am glad I had it anyway...I've always been leery of chicken pox..and I jokingly told some of my friends and my mom that baka sign from God na to!
anyway, wag mo nang guluhin isip mo sa FB - its to difficult to backtrack there to look for posts from friends :-(
Hey Cat,
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know that you're OK now. After you (I'm talking in general) get chicken pox, later on in your 60's, Shingles naman and mag a-attack sa yo. Mas painful yun. In my case, I need to get my Shingles shot pretty soon.
You are right about FB. Sa FB, It's history after a day.
Take care.
well, Jing did say if I had chicken pox daw later in my adulthood, mas lesser ang chance ng shingles...
ReplyDeletewhich I think would be logical...I mean, if one gets chicken pox as a 40 year old plus comparing to one who got it say at 5 years or age, e mas maraming years na possibility to get shingles for the latter than the former (I'd like to believe di naman agag mag recur ang chicken pox after one has it unless compromised siguro ang immune system?)
oho, may Shingles shot din pala?
how about malaria Joey, meron din pang parang vaccine nya? or it has to be shots you take for every trip you make into a mosquito-infested area?
actually, tama pala, I wanted to ask ano pa kayang shots dapat ko i-take kc nag offer ang company namin eh..most of it like HepaA-HepaB, flu (which every year naman, dahil sa strain pero di ko na tinake) tapos na ako..and I had mumps and measles already so ang bad luck ko lang talaga was not taking the chix pox vaccine before this happened..
tiningnan ko ulit may typhoid, and pneumococcal for starters...hmm...
omg! from Sex to Viruses and Vaccines LOL
Getting Shingles when you get older than 50 is really a lucky punch. But the best way to NOT get Shingles is get immunized against it. Shingles vaccine are available at pharmacies here and that vaccine is manufactured by Merck. It is called Zostavax. Go to www.merck.com/merckhelps for more info.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about vaccines against Malaria. If my memory serves me right, Quinine is still very effective against Malaria disease. But there are some articles about vaccines against malaria. Here are some links for you to look into:
http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=vaccines+against+malaria+update&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart&sa=X&ei=nbXWT6t8iOzZBZT8pK4P&ved=0CAcQgQMwAA
For travelers Hepatitis Vaccines are the most commonly given specially if traveling to third world countries. I guess you've done the right thing for taking those vaccines, including Flu. I myself have not had a single Flu vaccine in my life and I should really get one now that I am getting older....he he he.
Hope I answered some of your questions.
Let me know if you need more info.
Aloha Joey,
ReplyDeletethanks so much for the tips above....I think I shall send you a PM here because the topic is a bit of a divergence from Sir B's book...hahaha...but definitely yes, I have some other questions...
OK, Cat.
ReplyDeletethanks Joey!
