The best way to become acquainted with a subject is to write a book about it. - Benjamin Disraeli

  1. I think "acquainted" is too weak to describe one's knowledge on a subject after one has written a book on or about.

  2. Well..am not sure...there are lousy books which are written and even printed for *gasps* public consumption...

But maybe that is subjective...its possible the authors may be more than acquainted with the subject matter...its just that they didn't exactly inspire hero-worship when they wrote the book on it....hehehe

  3. I could say you've got to be passionate about a subject matter if you are to write a good book about it.

  5. Phillip Glass related in an interview once, that he became very familiar with classical music because his father would bring home piles and piles of record albums that didn't sell from his father's store. He and his father would listen to these unsold rejected albums over and over. Classical music has enriched his musical experience and has brought him to where he is today.

Sometimes one become a product of his environment by pure chance.

  6. So are you now going to write something about Multiply survivors? What happens to members of a social networking media when they leave members to hung out dry?
