Raw Footage: Piquantly 1/2 (Video)

Since Pearl takes videos with the consequence of being rarely included in the movies themselves, I've brought my other camera which can handle longer videos (not necessarily better looking though) and recorded 2 vids during the luncheon we had today with the other Multiply gals - Choie, Faith, MeAnn, Pearl...at Picant restaurant.

Spice Girls Lunch (Picant -> Picante) (Album)

Kyo wa juugatsu juuichi nichi, mokuyoubi desu (Today is October 11 Thursday)
la lang..practice lang ng nihonggo...*grin*

Seriously...today we had a lunch which was the result of Pearl organizing it, F8 recommending a resto in RCBC and MeAnn treating us unexpectedly.

Cat (wails): bat di mo sinabi MeAnn? order pa sana ako ng dessert if I had known!
MeAnn: (swirly-eyes and thunder and lightning flashing around her indicating righteous anger of the gods)

Pearl and the other girls will have their own pics to post and stories to tell...

...so I will content myself by saying that I immensely enjoyed the lunch due to the juicy-ness of the topics as well as the continuing gay mood (ehem..I hope Choie was able to make her date buy her dinner too!) and the fun of having pictures taken all around (though the waiter and other diners probably thought we were camera-mad or something)...imagine, lahat nagdala ng camera!

So sinong mga ka-date ko this lunchtime? Si Pearl (pps), si Faith (csj), si Meann (condessa), at si Choie (newsflash! may bago syang acronym: gc-d...ano yon? abangan!)

Choie...if I don't see you before you leave for the US..I hope you have a safe trip and that your mind and body have been envigorated by your short stay in your homeland...as you said..mas exciting nga dito!

And for those who have the patience to browse thru... please.feel free to invent your own script and thought bubbles of what was being said during the time the picture was taken!

All the captions I have placed in the corresponding pictures are all in the spirit of fun..may mix na truth in some pics (like Choie asking for fetuccine) but generally they are mostly a product of my sleep-deprived mind na nag overdrive sa imagination...

I hope walang magalit....paki PM na lang ako para ma edit...*grin*

NOTE: Multiply Album missing pictures...

Multiply in action: Tagaytay version (album)

Thanks to the Multiply site, I've crashed into a lot of wonderful people..becoming part of their lives, and their thoughts and happenings becoming part of mine too.

On October 7, 2007 (Sunday) I was the last one to arrive in Boboy and Guia Yonzon's cozy home...but the good folks still waited for me, inspite of their ravenous hunger, no doubt tripled by the tempting aromas of a very special paella (thanks to Chito, Cecil and Chicha for not eating it during the ride to Tagaytay), pinaputok na tilapia, Ms G's pork binangoongan tempatation, bulala (or pochero) and lots of other dishes which I will not continue to write about or else I may get hungry again in the midst of my own bare cupboards.

Sir B had picked me up near Olivarez, where the bus conductor was probably glad to see the back of me..since I was like a kid, asking him at least twice (like a petulant child on a trip) - "are we there yet?" How was he to know the significance of the event? He could only shake his head at me....

Bursting thru the door (kc gutom na!) I exchanged warm hugs, kisses and pats on the back with MeAnn, Pearl, Choie, Faith, Chito, Ms G and got introduced to Jack's sister Chicha..and Chito's wife Cecil...as well the tres charmante French family (Peter and Victor were the little frenchmen's names, Mariel was the rambutan especialista)...

Clicking away for posterity's sake....we finally settled down to eat, and amidst general ribbing about how Jack and the otheres were going to be a tad envious of how we were all gathered togehter...I am sure Nona, Jack, Oselle, Chiara, Helene, Lucy as well as the others know that they were in our thoughts as we gorged on the food and stimulating conversation (well, parang multiply posts din..kung saan-saan napunta ang usapan)...

Later that afternoon, after meandering around the house and having a merienda of turon with vanille ice cream, EllaFitz arrived, another multiplier. I have not been in very active contact with her but I know I've come across her posts once in a while.

With more funny conversation (highlight was the Yonzon dogs' antics....esp Max and his chicken-chasing, and panty-stealing ways) and videos from Pearl....we gathered ourselves outside the door.

I was hoping to see the gorgeous sunset for myself from Faith's location-prize of a house ever since I had seen her pics. Since MeAnn and ze French famille left earlier...the rest of us proceeded to Faith's house where we met her family and settled down for a hilarious tete-a-tete.

*sigh* If only my equipment could have managed it...it would have been wonderful to videotape how that conversation among the group went. Chito and Choie kept up the funny repartee and topics included bringing up parents..ehem..I mean children, grandparents, jailbirds, wrong ankle-scratching, politics, croc shoes, multiplitis symptoms, talk about other multipliers, subgroups like the Kitchen Goddesses (hmm...food to..bat di ko to namalayan at di ko nakita?) etc.

Chito and his family left thereafter and dropped off Pearl who had Rico and Ein waiting for her at home. So for dinner the remaining people again converged on the Yonzon's dinner table, where the fun continued... and of course where the talk continued.

I was moved by Ms G's tales of how our fellow countrymen have fared and have upheld the Filipinos good name during their work abroad. The Yonzons had met with some OFWs abroad...and while I am not ecstatically happy at how we are forced to export our people...I cannot help but also feel very proud of fellow Filipinos...even if they have become Italian or French citizens...their roots and values and behaviour in their adopted country inspires me...

There were also sad truths in how Sir B and Ms G described how its going in the situation of agrarian reform, farmers and the chaos that is Philippine politics...but I didn't analyze it too much at that time. Its enough of a downer during the daily grind we face.

Ella left afterwards to catch the bus to go to Fairview (Farview?) then Faith, her mom and Choie left also. The normal thing would have been for me to go catch some zees..but after taking a shower, I thought of keeping my gracious hosts company while Sir B dealt with his multiply (ha! ....thats why we saw how MeAnn and Pearl were so quick to share their photos and videos hehehe) and went thru his pictures...and while Ms G unpacked their pasalubongs and luggage.

It was a perfect end to the early morning, listening to the couple talk about not only the knickknacks and objects they picked during their trip (plus shake my head at how much work cataloguing and thinking of what pasalubong and who to give it to and worry about how it suits the person to which it is given)....

but also listen a little bit more about their family...their sons and daughter, and how their offspring have been living their lives with their better halves...the couple's history and values/behaviour from another era...about how Ms G and Sir B's relationship has progressed. I was probably half-asleep..but I was clutching my camera in my hands the whole time..and I didn't take one picture of how energetic we all were during that early morning talk...

Sadly at 4 am we had to pause and stop...we were aware we had to be leaving by 5:30 am for life's continuous grind and obligations...so I fell like a log on my bed (it was really my fault..I should not have stayed up until 5 am on Sunday morning watching anime)...and woke up later to join them and Faith for a quick but filling breakfast. With Caloy (their driver), Sir B, Faith and Leon ...I took catnaps on the way back to Makati. I was amused at how Ms G told her youngest son to lean to the right and not drool on me while sleeping on the trip ...hehehe...a great and funny mom was she! Nipped in the bud tuloy ang plano ni F8 na mag snore sa gilid ko....hehehe

With hurried goodbyes they dropped me off at my unit, and then I texted Pearl saying I was alive and sleepy...and went off to sleep. These are my candid shots...so..you guys can see the unabashed and naked expressions on our faces..este..their faces..*grin*

Pre-Oktoberfest sa Metrowalk - for the BAI peeps (album)

Sept 28, 2007 (Friday) - spur of the moment decision to go visit the previous company I worked for in Ortigas, despite horrendous traffic going out of Makati. Luckily, my work finished a bit earlier, so except for the phone conference I could, theoretically.... drink till I drop till dawn.

Didn't know until I arrived that there was a "bagyo"..by then, the lot of were ensconced in "Aruba" in Metrowalk.

Marco had to leave earlier, some good-natured teasing of our server Mer and the guys, more beer, and I accidentally deleted some pics (blame it on lack of sleep)...

Janine popped up aroiund midnight but had to leave, an-almost brawl happened if Redgie had lost his cool in a clash- of-the-eyeballs with a drunk guy...we lost Dean somewhere but found him, then we had to slog back thru the rain and water all the way to the office. I played pingpong after 2 years of inactivity while the guys guzzled more beer (hey, I figured my system may not be able to handle it since I've been on an insomnia roll these days...unless..it was hard liquor)...

by 4 am...a somewhat sober Dean and I trooped downstairs to get our bellies filled with McDo fare...and in the midst of the slight drizzle, stumbled across a series of tents in Emerald Ave. Looked like a food fair....unfortunately, beds called and we split for home. It was a good thing that the Corregidor tour I had scheduled for Sunday would most probably be cancelled due to the storm, coz at that point I slept like a log till 4 pm on that Saturday.

for the BAI gals and guys who were there...here you go...thanks for the company!

Some September Shots (album)

Sept 15, 2007 (Sat): Kimono Ken eaters.

Despite news of a "bagyo' the tv ads basics seminar in Ortigas pushed through. Lunch at "Kimono Ken" at Shangri-La Crossings proceeded. Sayang walang nakaisip kumuha ng video.

Sept 20, 2007 (Thurs): Out-of-the-blue HOSL Reunion.

A surprise call from Maita, whose only boy is my first ever godson (all the others were girls). She, Idyl and Willie who were some of my officemates from Sara Lee Direct Selling were in town for a training. After checking that I had no issues with my work, I said bye to my boss who was online and met them at "Starbucks" Glorietta. It was hiliarious how they tried to find where GB3 was..since I told them I would be there...I forgot to tell them Greenbelt..akala nila store..hahaha..

Afterwards we proceeded to Italianni's where we all had an after-dinner snacks. Reminiscing about how long its been since we first worked for Sara Lee..it was a good way to find out where the others in our batch are now scattered to.

Sept 21, 2007 (Fri): Dinner with Anil and other MM2005 peeps.

Anil, who was in town for a series of seminars in Ortigas...came all the way from India. So Jobet arranged for those of us who were in Manila to be meeting Anil for dinner. First choice was "Oody's" at GB3...but we didn't know it was under renovation. Well, no matter...there are other restaurants..and we ended up in "Thousand Cranes Shabu Shabu" on the 2nd floor of GB3. Aside from finding out one of our eligible bachelors (ehem) was getting married...I also found out the other classmate would be a father again.
Congratulations to Denis and Jen, and to Jobet...

Sept 22, 2007 (Sat): Belated Bday celebration

Friday, Sept 21 was Maita's birthday. Unfortunately by the time they contacted me that night, after the reunion dinner with Anil...my headache which I tried to hold at bay during dinner wouldn't go away. So we agreed to meet for lunch today. The others had to leave for Visayas and Mindanao so Maita and I ended up eating lunch at "Mangan's" in Glorrieta. Unfortunately since they had not planned on seeing me...they were not able to extend their trip. I hope next time we can go to Enchanted Kingdom..

Giahna & Eiggy's bday celeb/dedication (album)

Sept 9, 2007 - at Villarica Subdivision Clubhouse in Cainta, Rizal

Aside from it being the 7th and 5th bday celebration of Ms Gigi and Ernie's children, it was a good chance as any to have a semi-reunion with previous officemates who I have not seen for some time ...except when they are online (if di bawal ang YM sa office nila).

Got to be a godmother again today, to Giahna...but I'm pretty sure I have an easy task ahead of me as her ninang since her parents are doing great in guiding her and her brother on the road to living a life worthy of being children of God.

....one problem with candid shots is that just when you think you've got the subject in a good pose which is picture-worthy...a passerby adds a humorous twist to the picture you are taking...but don't you just love these kind of pictures?

Enjoy!
