Sept 9, 2007 - at Villarica Subdivision Clubhouse in Cainta, Rizal
Aside from it being the 7th and 5th bday celebration of Ms Gigi and Ernie's children, it was a good chance as any to have a semi-reunion with previous officemates who I have not seen for some time ...except when they are online (if di bawal ang YM sa office nila).
Got to be a godmother again today, to Giahna...but I'm pretty sure I have an easy task ahead of me as her ninang since her parents are doing great in guiding her and her brother on the road to living a life worthy of being children of God.
....one problem with candid shots is that just when you think you've got the subject in a good pose which is picture-worthy...a passerby adds a humorous twist to the picture you are taking...but don't you just love these kind of pictures?

Because Filipino families have a close relationship, reunions have become a wonderful tradition. Since many have gone abroad, these get-togethers have also become special moments. Thanks for sharing, Cat.

Talagang dirty ba yung ice cream o prejudice lang? I recall my mom's words, to buy only Magnolia ice cream, but I didn't differentiate.

well I don't think its really dirty per se..its just that as opposed to the Selecta (I love this..I thought before carabao's milk ginamit kaya mas creamy) or Magnolia which are sold in groceries..parang dubious yung ice cream na to..hehehe
I think may modicum of cleanliness naman..and if you really think about it..di naman sya mas creamy or mas delicious kaysa nong branded...(most of the time)...but the tagline has stuck to the ice cream being peddled on the streets as such.

yep. that "dirty ice cream" just got stuck to its image. especially kasi when we were kids, the sorbetero don't use gloves handling the cones hahaha. pero that added flavour muahahaha

but.....what about during the process of wrapping those tissues on the cones themselves? (OC, OC!)

and i can't forget my pilyang auntie telling me when i was a kid, imagine daw the sorbetero stopping over some street walls to jingle hahahaha. and no faucet to wash his hands. just proceeding to sell those ice cream with unwrapped cones. muahahahahahaha! yet we never really cared.

I remember yung mga sorbetero pushing their ice cream carts around the neighborhood but it wasn't called dirty ice cream then. The term "dirty ice cream" must've been coined fairly recently, or at the earliest after 1970.
