"I Kissed A Girl and I liked it"

If you were a girl, would you kiss another girl on the lips?

yes, if she was attractive, and didn't have bad breath and a celebrity too

 2

no, not for all the gold in King Solomon's mines

 2

I have to think about it, my boyfriend is strict

 0

definitely yes

 1

maybe, if I was drunk not to know what I was doing

 1

ask me in a decade

Makati City....15th October 2008....Mood: MTV-ish

Well, I seem to be on a roll for uncomfortable things today...either I am uncomfortably hunched over my laptop, uncomfortably contemplating the tasks I still have to finish before 12 midnight, or posting subjects which might be bound to be uncomfortable to touch upon...

Early this morning I switched to the MTV channel and watched for the second time a girl named Katy Perry do the moves and sing a catchy tune/song. It was only after 2 seconds that my brain actually processed her words.

I wondered if I could do that kind of thing, even if drunk to the gills, with the sheet to the winds.

Here are the lyrics....doesn't it make you think? or maybe, and this is girl-to-girl thingie you know...you need to watch the tame video...still, some people will likely say "bi", some will say try it out, some say this song should never have been sung...

Lyrics:

This was never the way I planned
Not my intention
I got so brave, drink in hand
Lost my discretion
It's not what, I'm used to
Just wanna try you on
I'm curious for you
Caught my attention

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

No, I don't even know your name
It doesn't matter
Your my experimental game
Just human nature
It's not what, good girls do
Not how they should behave
My head gets so confused
Hard to obey

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

Us girls we are so magical
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable
Hard to resist so touchable
Too good to deny it
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

btw, I was hoping to add more to the poll selection above but I had inadvertently pressed a key to publish this and since I was too lazy to redo the whole post, I thought, at least I tried inserting a poll into a blog :-)

[Note: Once the journal entry has been published, you cannot change the poll questions or answers anymore].

  1. some call it try. as in try-sexual. try lang ;-)

  2. hahaa..that reminds me a joke in Playboy party jokes book I found ages ago...

stages in a man's life (and what could the activity be?)

    tri-weekly
    try weekly
    try weakly

    ReplyDelete
  3. You think this brings uneasy thoughts? Just try to visualize or imagine this song and the accompanying MTV scene - featuring two males!

    ReplyDelete
  4. By the way, I checked the first option on your poll.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I could have predicted that *wink* and won some money...

    ReplyDelete
  6. you dont count, you're a guy. you have to replace 'girl' with 'guy'. will your answer be the same? try-sexual ka rin ba tito c? lol

    ReplyDelete
  7. actually, when I posted this, I was thinking of the female reader's reaction...

am sure if para sa lalake...well...

    ReplyDelete
  8. hmm..ano kaya ang choice ni Marie...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, for now, you have me and Marie.

Oo nga. I'm also curious. Ano nga kaya ang magiging reaction ng female readers mo, e.g. MeAnne, Choie, Che, Tita Loy, Gwiz, Faith (kaya lang medyo predictable itong isang 'to), etc.

    Abangan....

    ReplyDelete
  10. are you saying si F8 predictable? or the women you mentioned above?

    ReplyDelete
  11. one more thing, I'm not saying French kiss, open-mouthed kiss or any other variations...

the kiss here I am envisioning happening in the song is yung close-mouth, innocent peck on the lips...

ok, that may be disappointing to some people..hehehe...sorry guys!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes, I'm saying that F8 is predictable and the others are mysterious.

    ReplyDelete
  13. bah! si F8! nagtuos nga kay Boy Bastos, tapos ganon ang sasabihin mo?

F8 can surprise you...still waters run deep...

    ReplyDelete
  14. well, maybe I should change the poll into something like this -

would you give an open-mouthed kiss to the opposite sex, but who is a total stranger to you? ayan..happy? :-)

    ReplyDelete
  15. You mean you know F8 more than I do?

    ReplyDelete
  16. call it woman's intuition...
di ba you can't argue with that? hehehe...

    ReplyDelete
  17. I didn't say I can't. I said I won't.

    ReplyDelete
  18. By the way, I found your song on youtube. Here it is:

    ReplyDelete
  19. teka, parang di yata yan ang artist/singer...ma-play nga..

    ReplyDelete
  20. ayun, yung 2nd post mo...thats it...pa-cute di ba?

    ReplyDelete
  21. yung parody version, I'm torn between laughing and shuddering...or baka mixed na nga to...

    ReplyDelete
  22. orz

ayan, bagong smiley...ang o ang ulo, ang r and z ang body and legs...
its supposed to stand (ehem, probably wrong word but no pun intended) for a person who has collapsed...

thats my reply to the "laughering" of Chito..

    ReplyDelete
  23. I haven't watched MTV for a long time now but I thought that was a cool and funny video.

    ReplyDelete
  24. speaking of Tita Loy (in reference to the post above, but who I call Ms. Louella) , I think Meann texted earlier about meeting up with her at Fort. Hahay...mid-week and mid-afternoon? sayang...would have been nice to meet her too..

    ReplyDelete
  25. you were referring to the original one I suppose...:-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. you were referring to the original video/song I suppose...

    ReplyDelete
  27. *grin*

well, it doesn't surprise me...I tried watching "The Wedding Banquet" years ago, it was supposed to be an award winning film from somewhere in Asia..and I dragged my then bf to watch it with me..

yan din ang ma-quote ko na sinabi nya when he saw the two guys share some loving moments...

but..but..walang malaswang sex scene in that movie ha...yung relationship lang ng 2 guys ang inexplore and how the guy tried to hide the fact he was gay from his parents who were coming over to visit..

    ReplyDelete
  28. Because between the dictates of the heart and dictates of the brain, which would you rather choose? Because intuition moves long before reason has time to create perspective. Because intuition is deep while reason is shallow.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just saw the 1st video. Now, that's hilarious. The 2nd one, I thought the funny part was that it was her fantasy kissing a girl because she woke up from a dream in the end and she was next to her BF.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Whut? What? Whaat? BF? "My then BF?" Teka, teka....I need time to recover....deep breathly, este breathe deeply....omm....ommm...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ano ang mas grabe..."The Wedding Banquet" or "Broke Back Mountain"? I never saw any of them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yup...I think we're on the same plane.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Like I said on Chito's behalf...YUCK!*@

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sa "Wedding Banquet" daw, inexplore yung two guys. Tama ba Cat?

    ReplyDelete
  35. mas may action ang BBM...I felt it was more explicit even though you didn't see the actual body parts...if I remember correctly, in TWB there were no bed scenes like in BBM wherein they did it hunched over one another in the tent...I think...

pero ganda ng scenery sa BBM...

    ReplyDelete
  36. teka, backtrack a bit Joey..hehehe..hahaha!

eto kc na post...kc nag reply si Chito that its not that he can't argue..but that he won't argue with a woman's intuition....

....so yung "yuck" mo na reaction...its not what I think you were thinking I was asking Chito why he wouldn't do it...(eeeehhhh?)

    *giggles*

    ReplyDelete
  37. siguro dapat mo-i-practice yung mga breathing exercises sa Lamaze classes?

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's always hard to argue with women. It's a no win situation.

    ReplyDelete
  39. to get the right answer, you can verify it yourself by watching the movie and see how its "explored"....

    ReplyDelete
  40. panuurin nyo rin yung "happy together" ni wongkarwai. the guy on guy scenes are beyond hot

from what i know may full version sa youtube

    ReplyDelete
  41. somehow I don't think the guys would dig that ..though I have not seen it ha..

when you say beyond hot? in a good way? or in a way meaning the scenes and film should be consigned to the flames of the burner?

    ReplyDelete
  42. some women would argue with that too...therefore...

    ReplyDelete
  43. di ko yata kaya Marie if medyo beyond hot na as you say...I had to steele myself to reading yaoi stories before...so seeing something in front of me like that..baka mag-nosebleed ako ala anime-style...

    ReplyDelete
  44. ok lang yan masasanay ka rin hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  45. I say it's easy to argue with women, as long as you're not looking at winning the argument.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't think I'll ever get used to having nose-bleed. Ala-anime or otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  47. probably because she who has the last word, wins the argument....

and all because the guy got tired and gave up even if valid yung argument nya...*grin*

    ReplyDelete
  48. No, no not really. It's not a question of stamina. It just makes more sense.

    ReplyDelete
  49. it just makes more sense to give up in proving your point and winning the argument?

    ReplyDelete
  50. this song is also quite popular here...Katy Perry was really seen with a girl by her bf daw and bf got so mad ..hehehe...kids today..or a phase in life..

    ReplyDelete
  51. My dear Cat, silence is not giving-up. Rather it is the seat of wisdom in kingdom of the wise.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Cat I noticed that you seem to change your site theme quite often the last couple of days...:)

    ReplyDelete
  53. our professors at AIM would argue with that too...hahaha..dapat daw magsalita talga..

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was trying to find time to pick a theme from the custom ones, but got too tired so reverted to picking those already set by multiply...however, I only noticed afterwards that the previous theme I had chosen (the orange one with flowers) resulted in a format which I didn't like for the blog and other postings...:-)

  55. Pag sports and pinag-uusapan, siguro may edge and lalaki unless knowledgable din ang bebot sa sports na pinag-aarguhan nila.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Attention: to anyone who plans on doing it. Please let me know so that I can watch :D

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well, that would not surprise me since AIM professors are professional "talkers." Sometimes people can mistake discourse and eloquence for brilliance. Besides, AIM is a learning institution and is therefore consigned to rationality than intuition.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Aha...you see this is already the start of a new argument.

    ReplyDelete
  59. honestly, there were so many times I shook my head (mentally lang) at people just talking and talking and not making much sense while doing so...but they still do...and why? coz you get points for CP (class participation)...

who cares if you can talk straight for one hour on something? a point can be made concisely, quickly and even with just one succinct sentence...

    ReplyDelete
  60. umalis ka na...siguro video-han mo pa yan..shoo!

    ReplyDelete
  61. If you're familiar with the saying, "Madala ka sa tingin," that's literally making a point without even uttering a word much less a sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  62. not really...I tend to agree with this actually...I've seen my parents argue countless of times...ayaw mag-give way or give up ng isa...and to what ba, aver?

nasisira lang ang eardrums sa inosenteng nakikinig na bystander no...

so, unless its a matter of life and death, I would say, keep quiet and don't argue na lang..may ginansya ka pa sa laway (profit in saliva literally ang meaning)

    ReplyDelete
  63. the woman would probably not get into that kind of argument, unless mahilig nga rin sya sa sports...

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hahahahaha... Cat, you remind me of my children.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Deep thinkers don't say much. they are the ones who can make a point succintly in just one sentence. Marami lang sigurong mahilig pumapel.

    ReplyDelete
  66. ah...but you know..i remember being told that children of parents who usually argue with each other, turn out to be quite creative individuals..hehehe...

bakit kaya na-remind ko si Chito of his children? were they also subjected to the auditory signals coming from their parents during the loving debates?

    ReplyDelete
  67. hoy, bat nandito ka pa? alis..etong subject na to ay bawal, bawal I tell you, for kagaya mo na mahilig...hehehe..

    mahilig sa ipaq pala..*grin*

    ReplyDelete
  68. actually, I forgot na rin anong argument ng LT mentor ko kung bakit daw dapat mag-argue out and kwento..

baka para to think aloud or reason aloud..hahay...

    ReplyDelete
  69. e pano yung blind (not to be facetious ha)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Creative? Yes, they've grown to be that and more.

    Here's the scene:

Cecill (To the kids): Ok. Punta tayo ng grocery, ha? Tulungan nyo ako sa mga bibilhin na kailangan sa bahay.

Kid # 1: Kailangan pa ba kami sumama?

Kid # 2: Puede ba umuwi na lang kami.

    Cecill: Gusto nyo sampal!

Kid # 3: Kung magpapa-sampal ba kami, puede na kami umuwi?

    Kids 1, 2, 3: Explodes into laughter.

Cecill and Chito: Explodes into laughter as well...

    ReplyDelete
  71. Actually, it's the receiver of the tingin that matters not the giver. It is he who should get the point.

    ReplyDelete
  72. yes...really sweet daw...well you know each one passes a stage, but with the modern times it seems a lot of unusual things are allowed and exposed..but it could also be a provocation to her song, you know..

well maybe you heard of Linday Lohan's revelation as lesbian..but I do respect people for what they are and they're preferences in partners :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. *laughing*

    anong age sila nito? hehehe...

    ReplyDelete
  74. eto joke na...

e kc nga blind di ba..so pano ma receive ng supposed to be receiver? hehehe...

"dear, nandito ako, tumingin ka dito when you answer..."

    ReplyDelete
  75. is she? hmm...di ko alam that she has already admitted it in public...oh well, baka magbalik sa dating phase din one of these days...

may gay ba na bumabalik to being straight?

also, for Katy the artist who sang this song, baka naman nga gimmick lang...for her song...

    ReplyDelete
  76. ahahah natawa ako sa entry na to.. =)

    ReplyDelete
  77. hala, vote ka na..even if ayaw mo :-)

    ReplyDelete
  78. hehehe..thanks Nonz...cousin lang yan sa joke about how women are compared to continents...

    ReplyDelete
  79. Btw...

..on October 3, 2009 Katy Perry with "Boys Like Girls" will be at the Mall of Asia concert grounds here in Manila, Philippines...
