oops..mea culpa..corrected na link...
ReplyDeleteI has a sad. :( I not can finish watch :( Later.
ReplyDeleteMichael Moore film pala ito. Actually, hindi lang sa US ito nangyayari. Dito rin sa atin, ang mga insurance companies really make it very hard for the beneficiaries to get the benefits. Hindi ito kataka-kata considering that our insurance business is using their business models, and in many cases talagang extension ng US insurance comapnies ang nandidito sa atin.
ReplyDeleteThis is very evident in the recent pre-need scandals in our very own Republic of the Philippines!
ah..huli ako sa balita...wasn't aware of the pre-need scandals here in our R of P
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons why a lot of people immigrate to Canada, our system is not perfect but at least better than others... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty bad PR for the US medical insurance industry and a great one for Canada's.
ReplyDeleteBut if this is reality, then I wish Oselle could actually adopt me, hehehe...
I can't wait for Michael Moore's view/film about this somewhat cataclysmic financial debacle that the US (and indeed the world), is currently going through. I'm sure it will be depressing (again) but enlightening as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Cat. It is really an eye-opener. A great one.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, Cat. Would you know if Michael Moore did make a film about his asking the US government to do his laundry for him, free of charge? That would be hilarious, if it were not a tragic re-telling (again) of Greed in America.
ReplyDelete:-( depressing ba?
ReplyDeletesorry, am stuck in a couple of calls, so I haven't even finished seeing this..but thought best to spread it..yw Chito..
hehe..I will ask my co-employee nasa UK..mahilig tumingin-tingin during his evenings ng mga films na parang ganon..
ReplyDeleteSa akin lang yun, Cat. Others may have a different view of this film. By the way, can I create a link on this on my site with a review?
ReplyDeleteCanada has a universal healthcare system, and everyone is covered.
ReplyDeletesure, basta ikaw...spread this around...
ReplyDeletethat's why canada rules. bananaking can you adopt me?
ReplyDeleteactually even cuba ok pa rin sakin. but paris benefits sure are da best.
ReplyDeletedid you catch the one where michael moore gave money for his enemy's wife's healthcare? that hate website's still up btw. but at the same time he's very thankful for moore's help.
www.moorewatch.com
true...hear good things about Canada's health, education..etc.
ReplyDeleteok to ah..si Chito pa-adopt ni Oselle
ReplyDeletesi Marie kay BNK naman...
pahanap na rin para sa akin..*grin*
thanks Marie!
ReplyDeletecat hanap ka ng parisian husband. tapos i adopt mo ako wehehe
ReplyDeletewhy don't you just find me one..tapos cge, I'll find the guts to stomach him and adopt you...*wink*
ReplyDeletethen, let's find one for you too, and I will divorce the guy, ikaw na mag adopt sa akin...fair di ba? mwahaha!
ReplyDeletesacre bleu!
ReplyDeleteoui Mademoiselle...
yan na..extent ng french ko..I don't like languages na maraming superflous letters di naman pino-pronounce no...pfft!
oo nga no? sayang sa ink
ReplyDeletebut Cat pagtiisan mo na ang sobrang letters for universal health care!
yung exprience ko before with prevoius HMOs like Philam, Keller (before nag kaput) and all the others coming after ok naman *knock on wood*...
ReplyDeletehealthcare nga should really a priority sa atin eh...
I myself feel bad that those who need healthcare, especially yung above 65, di na pwede for health insurance...
hello, mas kailangan nga eh..and am sure that even if its more expensive, shouldn't some companies or concerned groups do something?
baka naman pwede may HMO mag cater to yung 65-80 people..or extend naman nila...dad ko di na pwede eh..and my mom will not also have coverage after this year...*sad*
kaya universal is the way talaga..kahit martian me health care coverage. lol
actually my mom may pre-existing conditions before...
ReplyDeletesabagay, am thankful really (Thank you God!) that so far ok pa naman health ko..even if I haven't reached a super-comfortable level of monetary security, at least so far with all my overtimes and lack of rest, buhay pa ako at di nag-ho-hospital...
siguro we should immigrate to Canada na..hehehe..
Si Chito pa aalis ng Pinas? Bomalabs yan, 'no Tochi? :)
ReplyDeleteWalang problema, napag-uusapan yan. Dahil senior na ako, pwede ko rin siya kunin as my Caregiver. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, kelangan talaga ang universal healthcare where everyone is covered. Unfortunately, the government has to have the financial resources to support the program. The US had been trying to copy Canada's healthcare system but it cannot because of its huge population. Add to that the special interest groups like insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare providers that want to get a slice of the pie. Canada's population is only equal to the population of California and therefore funding is easier to manage. Universal healthcare won't work in the Philippines for very obvious reasons (which I won't bother going into).
Canada's healthcare system covers all hospital bills, doctor visits, medical examinations, patient transport, everything to do with your healthcare. Piggybacking on this is the Pharmacare system which provides for huge discounts in pharmaceuticals. US residents even go up to Canada to fill their prescriptions. Getting sick here is not a problem even if you have no money because you're covered. You can go to any hospital you want without worrying about your bill. And you can see your personal physician anytime, with no limit to the number of consultations.
ReplyDeleteit's true some americans cross the border to get healthcare in canada. ganun ka patok
can't blame them eh Marie?
ReplyDeleteoy, btw, kailan next theater date natin? hehehe...
I have an ex-officemate who heard we watched ZZZ, (sorry, dito ko lang ilagay ha) who got envious...*wink*
oo nga summer na. i will check and let you know
ReplyDeletethanks...eto, pause-play, pause-play sa video pa rin until now...:-)
ReplyDeleteaalis yan Oselle...
ReplyDelete....
...
...
pero babalik rin after matapos yung benefits...hahaha!
peace Chito!
you know...just thinking out loud...even if BNK was saying earlier that universal healthcare won't work out in the Philippines for obvious (or somewhat too obvious hehehe) reasons...remember that Choie and the others before were saying about getting together and working on some project..siguro sa lunch yon sa resto in that Indian resto in Ayala ages ago..
ReplyDeletebaka naman we can start with healthcare...I know medyo messy, but we got to start somewhere...probably people will ask, with so many other issues, bakit healthcare pa? but this topic is something I'd be glad to pitch in and pledge time (not money though kc may pay cut to look forward to..oh joy!) and effort..
ReplyDeletemay official study ba sa health care industry sa Pinas? am sure sa group natin so many others can lead to other people...
ReplyDeletemaybe there's a different model which can work with our society...
ReplyDeletebtw, recently I've seen this also being shown on HBO here in Asia...
ReplyDeleteCat, di ko mabuksan ang link. Walang video daw:-(
ReplyDeletepero if may pasensya ka and you are ok with streaming, am sure nasa Youtube ..somewhere on the vast world of the internet..as Marie is so fond of telling me when I say I want to watch something...*grin*
She loves to post links:-)
ReplyDeleteand reviews on food...hahaha!
ReplyDeleteKaya pala vibes kayo:-)
*wink*
ReplyDeleteHe he he....WALA!!
ReplyDeletekaya vibes lahat! hehe!
ReplyDeleteAyuz!!!
