Artist/Direk/Photographer/Classmate etc. (my slashes are getting used up) and good friend Sir Boboy's 60th birthday party and first one-man show sa Tagaytay.
Delicious food (probably may chocolate?) and happy drinks. Good company, Multiply buddies and friends. Scintillating and humorous conversation. Paintings? Sketches? Photographs...
awanin ti takwar means yo no tengo dinero as in no more money. Ini slang ko lang yon. Awanin is nothing in Ilocano and takwar is kwarta pronounced backwards.
Dapat siguro combantrin ang binigay kay Baracks dito sa commercial na ito (which by the way my pamangkin in law was the director of photography, hehehe...)
Yes, Oselle. This is a real TV commercial which aired just a few weeks after the US election.
The guy who played the Obama character is an Indonesian and I heard his looks has propelled him to some kind of a star status there in his country. By the way, the reason why he looks so tall, is an advertising trick (alam ito ni Helene). Naka-tungtong siya sa box. The objective was to highlight the contrast in height. Also, if you noticed, the character playing PGMA was like gliding towards Baracks. In advertising reality, talagang nakasakay siya sa isang sliding contraption.
Pare, I'm sure the US embassy people out there in Roxas Blvd. including Kristy Kenny, the US ambassador herself, have seen this. And yes, they must have had the time of their life laughing at their president, and laughing harder at ours, hahahaha....
Hay, this kind of exchange is what I have been missing. Vintage Kayumanguito exchange of comments. Crazy, hilarious, wacky, silly, but always witty and fun! Hallooo everyone! =(
Totoo yan.
hahaha..ang galing naman ni Joey talaga..totoo talaga yan, I've been hearing from other Pinoy who've been to Hawaii that that's the case.. As I read "Dreams from my father" of Obama, i noticed that he's very familiar to Filipinos, kasi sa Hawaii siya talaga lumaki..
He is more than a client. He is my best friend doctor from Maui. Retired na siya ngayon. Small things like that, just let is slide. I agree with you though.

ReplyDeleteLOL....bakit naman combantrin? Naimpacho lang daw naman eh..
ReplyDeletePinapalabas ba talaga sa tv 'to?
Yes, Oselle. This is a real TV commercial which aired just a few weeks after the US election.
ReplyDeleteThe guy who played the Obama character is an Indonesian and I heard his looks has propelled him to some kind of a star status there in his country. Hay, this kind of exchange is what I have been missing. Vintage Kayumanguito exchange of comments. Crazy, hilarious, wacky, silly, but always witty and fun! Hallooo everyone! =(

ReplyDeletenaku, maniwalang walang tak-war si Joey...mag bankrupt pa yata Fort Knox...*grin*
hmm..I remember nag-google pa ako ng ganon na word coz di ko napuna na contra-bu-la-te...basa ko pa naman contra-byu-leyt...hihiih!
ReplyDelete"awanin ti takwar"
impacho ha...dapat kumain pa sya ng aratiles or more mansinitas...para lalala!
ReplyDeleteYah, right?!
ReplyDeleteNatutunan ko lang yan dito. I am not Ilocano but Hawaii has lots of Ilocanos.
First time we looked at Hawaii sa Google maps we chanced upon an area na may Ilocano caption. Tawa kami ng tawa.
ReplyDeleteDati nga walang tagalog. Puro Ilocano lang ang translation sa public. Ngayon meron na din.
ReplyDeletealiw talaga, thanks marie, :)
ReplyDeleteAng problema sa mga Ilokano jan, they don't consider themselves Pinoys. Kung asked if Filipino sila, sagot nila hindi, Ilokano kami.
ReplyDeleteReally? If there is, what does it mean? I know there is a word CONTABULATE.
ReplyDeleteHawai'i is an overseas extension of the Ilocos region. Wen ading, agpaypayso.
ReplyDeleteTotoo yan.
Yung word na Contrabulate was coined by Chito which means CONTRA sa BULATE. :-)
ReplyDeleteWen too Ading.
ReplyDeleteAba ang galing mag ilocano ni bananaking. Nalaing agpayso
ReplyDeletehahaha..ang galing naman ni Joey talaga..totoo talaga yan, I've been hearing from other Pinoy who've been to Hawaii that that's the case..
ReplyDeleteAs I read "Dreams from my father" of Obama, i noticed that he's very familiar to Filipinos, kasi sa Hawaii siya talaga lumaki..
I watched the video, siya pala si Cafe Barack..hahaha..aliw naman, kahawig talaga..
ReplyDeleteHanggang ngayon, ganoon pa rin, Nons. Somebody has to tell these guys na Pinoy sila.
ReplyDeleteAddu ammok a sarita: Pampango, Ilokano, Tagalog, English, ken battit nga Hawai'ian, battit nga Spanish. They call me "The Tongue Expert." LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL! you even know how to spell Ilocano properly. i get confused with the double letters, the C the S and the Ks
ReplyDeleteHe is more than a client. He is my best friend doctor from Maui. Retired na siya ngayon. Small things like that, just let is slide. I agree with you though.
ReplyDeleteGaling ni Tochie for coining that word.
ReplyDeletenice going Joey...easier and magaan pa ang loob mo instead of getting into a fight over such matters :-) kaya pala youthful ka youthful ka..
ReplyDeleteThank you Cat. It just made sense to me not to go into it.
ReplyDelete
