kapagod!
ReplyDeleteanong procedure yun?
ReplyDeleteoh! why?? what's the procedure cat?
ReplyDeletemadalas yan dito, ang daming patients, and when you get in, they would just look, so and so..oops tapos na...buti mas okay kung short procedure than the opposite di ba?
ReplyDeletemea culpa *sigh*
ReplyDeleteit seems that its my fault...I use cotton buds to clean my ears...and what happened instead is that since buds are a bit too big for the ear canal for cleaning purposes...I pushed the wax in instead of wiping it out, so my right ear became blocked and I couldn't hear anything on that side for the last week...
as you know, the procedure is just for siphoning that wax out...and no amount of wiggling in my ears part could do it for me...
so tip from the doctor? she said its self-cleaning, just use a towel to wipe the outside and inner shell...
too true, all that waiting...
ReplyDeleteluckily I brought a travel guide with me..about Beijing..so might as well made use of the slack...
touche Nona..better na lang long waiting time kaysa opposite...
ReplyDeletehowever I was antsy because I was backup for my teammate in Belgium (I think it may have been a holiday there too)..and my eyes were rolling around thinking of all the emails and long queues I was going to face if I didn't get back soon...
too bad there is no wireless connection here right? imagine, I could have done work while waiting..anyways, lucky I bring a book with me wherever I have something like this happening
totoo yan, it happened to me, my ears, both were blocked, ang feeling was very uncomfortable..I learned and stopped but now still doing..this reminds me to stop from it again, bago pa ma block ulit :)
ReplyDeletepero ang sarap ng feeling pag relieved na..heheeh..
ReplyDelete*wink* onga eh...parang like having a thorn plucked out of one's side
ReplyDeletesiguro nga we should not clean, not even with those little spoonlike things used by other people in lieu of the cotton buds...
e self-cleaning daw ang ear eh!
I wish there was a house I could live in na self-cleaning...haha!
good idea..let's build an ear house..heheeh...
ReplyDeletetotoo, actually if we don't clean the ear too much, sa labas lang, yung wax would be a good help to trap any insect getting into our ears..
Wow, a two hour wait! That sucks.
ReplyDeleteWell,at least and ipinunta mo sa Medical Center is not life-threatening.
ReplyDeleteFor that condition, you can actually buy from the pharmacy an ear bulb syringe to extract ear wax or fluid from your ear canal. Please see the link below so you'll have an idea how it looks like. Photographers use this too to blow the dust from their cameras.
Tama sila. You only use the Q-Tips to clean the outer ear. The ear wax will fall off eventually anyway. Glad to see you're OK. Hope you did not pay a lot of money for it and your medical insurance took care of that.

typical spice of life sa pinas.
ReplyDeletehuwaaat?? Nagpunta ka pa kaya! Hehehe... Hindi puwedeng virtual yung procedure..? :P
ReplyDeletehe he he. ako naman nagka-block din nung nag pneumonia ako before giving birth to maxie, they actually had to break thru the ear drum to get at the build-up kasi kung hindi daw matanggal, i can go deaf on that ear. buti na lang sabay sa c-sec. masakit kasi daw na procedure yun.
ReplyDeleteits super borthersome and irritating to not hear on one ear ano, Cat!
that sounds familiar.. hehehehe
ReplyDeleteI hope it didn't take an hour to go to that medical center. Kung ganun nga and it took about the same duration pabalik sa residence mo, that means you've practically spent the entire half day for just a sixty-seconds procedure!
ReplyDeleteMag Tattoo ka na kasi or SmartBro. Chargeable naman yan as official expense diba..
ReplyDeletewireless kc is not that reliable in comparison to the wired connection...and I tried Globe Visibility..e sa kasamaang palad, it will only work if I go to the topmost floor (i.e. the floor where the swimming pool is) and I can't use that area for my office work until 2 am hehehe! besides, its slow too...
ReplyDelete*Cross fingers* in the future, baka wireless na all over dito sa Makati wherever you go...hmm..would I still be alive then?
I hate waiting! even for water to boil...LOL!
ReplyDeleteI was worried because I remember my mom complaining when she went last week to the same medical center...she was given the usual priority number...when they got to her and called her, umuwi na ang doctor na inaantay nya...tsk..tsk..
ReplyDeleteo di ba? more spice of life sa Pinas....hehehe...
thanks Joey...tignan ko dito to sa mga pharmacies if meron ba...or somewhere na pwede to mabili...nakaktuwa tingnan..eheheh...and useful too...hmm..baka dapat sa photographer's equipment stores too...
ReplyDeleteahahaha! mag drip out lang and dust and dirt...without any help from the occupants...
ReplyDeletesa quiapo ka pumunta at bumili ng ear wax picker. old age remedy for new age people. : )
ReplyDeletehmm...I think there is the dry type and the oily/waxy type of ear wax...sa akin kc is the latter..which is something I am not too happy about thinking it will just fall off...parang river of wax..urgh...excuse me...
ReplyDeletewell, I left them last night still asking my HMO if allowable expense ba..ehehe..bahala na..I had only 20 minutes to rush back to the house to prepare for my meeting..so I vamoosed...
hi Rocky..
ReplyDeletenaku, kung alam ko lang pano..but I was trying to play it safe kc mahirap na may ma-touch or masira pa ako sa eardrum ko..e matanda na..maging bulag pa..bingi pa sa kabilang ear...ehehe!
hi Chiara...
ReplyDeletesounds painful nga...you said "break thru the ear drum"...eeeek! *runs away with hands covering ears*
dapat may backup ear...ehehehe...top of the head? *wink*
you've done that too Sher?
ReplyDeleteI chose the medical center kc nasa mall lang sya malapit to my place..lucky naman that either Makati Med or other medical centers are near to where I live..so its not that bad going there..its the waiting which will ultimately give one ulcers...
ReplyDeleteis this the one where its like a little spoon? personally I don';t like putting things inside of my ears..
ReplyDeleteWell you put that cotton bud inside your ears! Ear to ear grin tuloy ako.
ReplyDeletebelieve me, I was forced to put that cotton bud inside my ears...coz I was going to the doctor for my annual physical check-up...
ReplyDeleteironic no? ehehehe...wala sanang problema...pero gumawa ng problema...ayos...

Sorry. Gutom lang ito.
i just went to this Chulalongkorn Hospital (a public hospital) here in bkk last tuesday and it took me 2 hours and a half just to wait to meet a doc and it took only 5 mins for the doc to ask about my symptoms and ordered me some meds.. and i had to wait another half an hour to get the damn meds.. but its super cheap lah.. hahahhaa
ReplyDeleteHahahaha... Kain ka na Hugz!
ReplyDelete(I hope this will not be read as bragging but) I just had a minor operation at the Asian Hospital in Alabang (malapit kasi sa amin ito) recently and I must say, it was a VERY pleasant experience for me. The waiting time was very short, i.e. under acceptable terms, e.g. under 10 minutes in each stage, which were not too many, and very comfortable yung mga waiting areas with TV, (cable TV pa), and it seems every one of the staff, including the surgeon, was accommodating.
ReplyDeleteSayang Cat. Sana malapit ka lang dito.
Balak ko nga i-blog yung experience na yun.
this is the ear-ripressible humor of Sir B..maski gutom...
ReplyDeletehi Sherry! if its dirt-cheap, I can do the waiting..55555!
ReplyDeleteI heard good stories about Asian Hospital (para ngang hotel nasa isip ko with matching peso signs in my eyes)....
ReplyDeleteblog about it Chito..that would be a nice way to prod other people...
ngayon, you are aptly named a "patient" coz you have to be patient in waiting for your turn at hospitals, clinics and medical centers...
Naku sinabi mo pa! Even here in Japan, they'll let you wait for hours for a 5 minute consultation - bwiset!
ReplyDeleteporque kaya? I would have thought sa Japan, very efficient..kulang ba ng doctor or medical staff?
ReplyDeleteCaution lang Cat. Isang experience lang ito. Baka na-tiempuhan ko lang. But I can confirm that the hospital lobby is really like a hotel - malaki, at magaganda ang mga upuan (iba-ibang sala sets). There is an equivalent of of a hotel check-in counter with well-dressed, pleasant and helpful staff manning it. In one corner, there is a grand piano (or baby grand) pero parang walang pianista na taga tug-tog talaga, i.e. mukhang any guest can play the piano (and the acoustics is really okay).
ReplyDeleteChe use to use the cotton bud tips regularly ..... told her not to and finally BANNED her from using it!
ReplyDeleteRemember Cat when we had the son of the owner of Asian Hospital at AIM? During that time the financial condition of the hospital was precarious. And the son said something like his father built the hospital without any feasibility study and just felt that it was something the people needed and deserved. They were looking for ways to brand it. But I guess its facilities and service finally sold the place for them.
ReplyDeleteI used to have my exec check-up at Asian (St. Luke's was a bad dream). But now I can't afford it.
It is a good thing that hospitals are trying to improve their buildings, equipment, and services. Medical City is also okay. Makati Med, the erstwhile premiere hospital, has a lot of catching up to do. I don't know if Manny Pangilinan's management magic will turn it around soon. St. Luke's in Global City is rising very fast, so that may unclog the heavy traffic in the original hospital.
yes, I remember...and well, a brand is a brand and finally Asian Hospital has had time to show itself...ma-remember ko palagi yung may magkwento about the piano..hehe..hospital na parang hotel...entrepreneurs are like that sometimes, maski walang feasibility study, parang gut feel lang di ba?
ReplyDeleteeh? how much is the exec check-up sa AH - maski ballpark figure lang?
one time I visited Medical City coz a friend's wife just gave birth to their first-born...not that big a room, but so much nicer than what I've seen in comparison to others *ehem* tapos may internet pa kaya sa loob ng room..don ako impressed..ahaha!
ReplyDeleteI visited Makati Med last month, because I wanted to eat crispy bihon (what an excuse)...that reminds ma, san ba ang pictures ko non...
and so with my mom, we trooped there and it was clean and spacious, so different from when I last saw it..I hope it does well as its my sentimental favorite (my dad was confined here when I was quite young due to a broken leg and I still remember bits and pieces of my and his stay here)
I've never seen St. Luke's (not that I want to visit hospitals)...
hehe! she did mention something like that when I told her about my ear problem when we met up last week...she said the spoon-like things were better, but now I hear its best not to use anything inside the ear at all...
ReplyDeletehmm...but you are not the first one to say good things about AH...
ReplyDeletenow if only may ganon na hospital, pero not that expensive to make one's wallet cry for help...
All ear wax dry up and eventually fall off. Minsan di mo pang na papansin. It will fall off like a ball of wax. Unless you keep pushing it inside with a Q-Tip cotton bud.
ReplyDeleteo sige na po..kasalanan ko...patawad...tao lang po kasi ako...
ReplyDelete*grin*
OK, pina tatawad ka na...:-)
ReplyDeletebut actually I did a good deed..*about face na to*
ReplyDeletedue to my fault..some doctor got paid for doing work on my ear...oh, how generous of me...
Oo nga, pero that was an expense you didn't have to do. But you learned something from the doctor and us.:-)
ReplyDelete:-) honga ano...in the quest for knowledge...well, never too old to learn...
ReplyDeletemaybe I should put some of my medical problems here para ma-consult hahaha..free pa..*grin*
As long as it is a non-life threatening condition, pwedeng free consultation:-)
ReplyDeletehmm..ok..ganito..for the last 3 mornings, I've been waking up to some back pain...didn't wear any heavy backpack, didn't have any pains before going to sleep, didn't slouch, didn't have any trouble or pain urinating...
ReplyDeletemy bed is wood, with a mattress on top, then on top of that a thin futon from Japan, I don't normally put a pillow under my head coz my neck gets painful..so all in all the same sleeping habits for the last 3 weeks...but masakit ang likod ko..
wala akong scoliosis, nag pa-x-ray ako sa APE ko last month..wala naman akong kinain na out of the ordinary or nasobrahan...hmm..ano ba kaya ...
am dreading the thought of going back this week...have some rashes on my right leg...rats!
ReplyDeleteI went back to the clinic the other week, I had this recurring rash on the back of my left leg, almost near my knee joint, which has been with me since back after my graduation from college...I thought it was just "bungang-araw" since I very easily sweat...
ReplyDeleteluckily it was just a mild form of eczema (but the itching part was very inconvenient even if satisfying!), but what I wanted to share was that the doctor recommended some creams or lotions for me as it turns out my legs were quite dry that time (so happened because I was too busy with work and didn't really take time to put lotion on).
Physiogel Cream is more expensive than what I am used to (I could not find Jergen's Ultra Healing lotion that time) but very effective. Just two applications and I instantly felt my legs begin to go back to its normal conditions instead of resembling the aridness of the Sahara desert *grin*
