thought of black gulaman and sago, but Loo kindly pointed out in FB that there is this Chinese dessert called Chin Chow...which seemed to me to be almost the same ...
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover?" At one point the chef is discussing the preparation of food and says that he always charged the most for black food, because it is like eating death.
ReplyDeleteBon Apetite!
Sounds like black forest cake and ube ice cream are in order.
ReplyDeleteno, but the title sounds interesting and gives rise to diff possibilities :-)
ReplyDeleteif one is to eat death, why should one be charged highly for it? shouldn't one charge instead for one's daring to eat it from the resto or establishment offering it?
hmm..now if I had that, I'd take a picture of my meal :-)
ReplyDeletemay ube polvoron dito but its not black enough...
as Tito Rudy said, dapat yata sweet puseet...with ink...hehe
Lumboy!
ReplyDeleteits been ages and ages since I've eaten lumboy...!
ReplyDeletemay lumboy pie kaya?
what is lumboy?
ReplyDeleteyou should have taken your picture with a full smile, while having those black thingies!
Java plum daw...for lomboy...
ReplyDeleteI was so hungry, I only thought about it when I was mid-way...since my breaded fish was covered in my cajun spice and I deep fried it..it was also quite black...not the deep brown ones which I think I was expecting :-) para syang burned fish..hahaha...
Lumboy is duhat.
ReplyDelete+
Blueberry pie is closest thing to black that I can think of, as far as sweet desserts go.
Or licorice sticks.

Here's a cousin to duhat (who knows it may be the same). http://marmuyco.multiply.com/photos/album/166/Discovering_Tambis_and_Other_Edibles_at_the_Botanic_Garden#photo=34
