Sugarcane juice is so refreshing. Red or green (sugarcane)?
ReplyDeletegreen lang ang available when our helper went out to buy some sugarcane stalks...sayang, walang red..
ReplyDeleteanyway, maybe tomorrow meron, so I can have my sugarcane sticks and chew on them while doing work...
I hope they will plant some sugarcane again by our fence...
I've never tried it. I wonder if raw sugar cane is available in Japan?????
ReplyDeleteby any chance, is sugarcane planted there in Japan?
ReplyDeletemy fond memories of my maternal grandma's house included munching on sugarcane, coz she had a bunch planted in her front garden :-)
I wouldn't even recognize it if I saw it.
ReplyDeletehmm...actually a sugarcane field would make me think of horror movies in some ways...all those tall long leaves..which are quite itchy sometimes...
ReplyDeletesugarcane juice is available here, (probably there it could be in cans) but there's something satisfying after munching and sucking all the juice out from sugarcane sticks...
This is our favorite "refreshments" in my childhood days! Did you know that sugar cane can grow in your backyard? Meron kami nito sa likod bahay (as most houses in our neighborhood then).
ReplyDeletered or white? teka..may green din yata..ano yung sa inyo?
ReplyDeleteif maka visit kami sa bahay nyo. e pwede mo ba kaming i-serve ng ganon? I really miss it (ubos na ang binili namin)...and corn on the cob..yumm...
Actually mas parang violet sya rather than red.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Cat. I just hope my old neighborhood in Naga City is still intact. I was referring to our old house in Cams. Sur where I spent my childhood days (Kite Runner days).
ReplyDeleteoh dear..here I was imagining yung bahay mo these days..remember may picture ka with the car while it was raining..akala ko don sa backyard na yan...
ReplyDeleteanyways, mas ok nga may plant na ganito...I hope yung planted dito ngayon (from half of what I had) will grow...
