There are those who have expressed their support
through messages of text, phone calls, email, PMs, FB status posts
and other networking sites comments, and those who also
took time to visit in the other hours
(who may or may not have written in the Visitor's Logbook),
I thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to
come and share in the remembrance of my dad Capt. Nene Herrera.
Thank you Minnie H and Bing J, Cathy C, Che & friends,
Tito Rudy & Mommy Loy as well
as Benjie Logon and her family.
Thank you also to the Sara Lee friends who kept us awake
at the wake, especially on the last night - Elena and Merle, Loloy and Melvin.
Your words made us withstand the bad times with courage.
Although this is a time of grief for all of us,
I find solace and warmth in knowing how favored my dad, my mom and I
have been to have you as our friend(s).
And to the pallbearers, and others who have contributed to the service,
we are grateful to you forever.
Yours sincerely,
Victoria & Catherine U. Herrera

Well done. It is nice to know that you are loved and wished well especially in times of sorrow.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this..we are grateful too that you had this lots of help shared by your relatives, colleagues, co-almuni, friends and neighbours too! love to you Cath and to your Mom!
ReplyDeleteI will have to post additional here as my memories come back, the above was more for those who were there at the wake, but other friends of my mom and I (and some common friends with Daddy) had also given their support.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, thanks to Ms. Guia and Sir Boboy, who were the first to offer condolences. They actually went down from Tagaytay at past midnight to visit me even though it had been a very busy day for them. The talk with Ms. Guia energized me enough that even if I had been up for some time, I was able to arrive in Cebu on a delayed flight to be with my mom.
The next would be at the admin office of where I live. When they found out I was leaving hurriedly, they printed my ticket for me so I had no need to queue at the airport (I had to hurriedly buy online and had no printer). So at least I was able to get to the airport on time.
Within 12 hours of my knowing my dad's passing, Tito Rudy and Che were able to visit my mom first thing in the morning after even visiting the funeral parlor (sadly, wala pang embalming so di pa mapakita ang body coz it had been very recent).
ReplyDeleteSince Mommy was alone at the house of my dad's death, and had been up since the other day to arrange for my dad to be moved to St. Peter etc. I know their presence let her know she wasn't alone.
Take care, my friend...
ReplyDeleteHope you and your mom feel better now.
