ReplyDeletedaming holiday na sa pinas ah...
ReplyDeleteMabuti iyan, kaysa puro trabaho, nabobored ka sa buhay, life should be celebrated more than puro reklamo sa buhay, life is too short to fret about.
ReplyDeletepardon my ignorance, pero ano yang celebration na yan, ate cat? ^_^
ReplyDeleteOk, basing on the scanned copy attached to the email, Eid'l Adha is one of the two greatest feasts in Islam...
ReplyDeleteand all that blah-blah about how great feasts of the Christian Church (e.g. Christmas etc.) are holidays...so this is a holiday too...
and...signed pala to ni GMA last April 12, 2009..
eh, at least we know it at this point..if di sya bawiin..*Cross fingers*
Malacanang Palace...hahaha!
ReplyDeleteeto Kat...google ko na rin, kc yung end of Ramadan lang alam ko...hehehe...
ReplyDeleteEid al-Adha (Arabic: عيد الأضحى ‘Īdu l-’Aḍḥā) "Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" is a Muslim Holiday celebrated by Muslims (including the Druze) worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God.
Eid al-Adha is the latter of two Eid festivals celebrated by Muslims, whose basis comes from the Quran. (Muslims who belong to the Shi'ite branch of Islam celebrate a third Eid.) Like Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha begins with a short prayer followed by a sermon (khuṭba).
Eid al-Adha annually falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja (ذو الحجة) of the lunar Islamic calendar. The festivities last for three days or more depending on the country. Eid al-Adha occurs the day after the pilgrims conducting Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide, descend from Mount Arafat. It happens to be approximately 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.
ironic..may mga holidays mas marami ngayon, wala naman akong pera pang-holiday...hahaha!
ReplyDeleteseriously Tochie, coz may scanned copy kc naka-attach sa email given to us by HR...
ReplyDeleteerrr..i think there's a holiday on the 30th too, so it's a very long holiday? thank you for the info pala :)
ReplyDeletethanks for reminding me..Nov 30 is a holiday too!
ReplyDeleteargh, another long weekend, but...walang maisip puntahan..matulog na lang kaya...haha, wala pang gastos...
nung nag aaral pa ako, tuwang tuwa ako sa ganyang balita pero ngaun may pinaaaral na ako eh bwiset na bwiset na ako. daming bakasyon. lugi talaga parents.
ReplyDeletesame here i think!
ReplyDeleteyeah, when one grows up, iba na point of view *grin*
ReplyDeletesame here, I was always so cheery when I hear of holidays...when I was a student, when I was working, even when I was having my own business (because programmers naman kc eh, not manufacturing or the other kinds of business which is adversely affected by something like this)
eh? you also have this holiday declared there as non-working?
ReplyDeletenow, I just heard from Raqs that 27 is not a holiday....
ReplyDeleteconsistently inconsistent!!
