  2. how's the connection of smartbro there? my sister is having problems using her globe tattoo in banawa. she had to look for a coffee shop pa just to upload photos pfft

  3. yo Kat...thank goodness its ok...was able to work for an hour - connection was ok with no problems so far (knock on wood) and the signal was full strength...

after an hour I disconnected and discovered ok na ulit ang wifi sa service center (yung 2nd nila) so at least free yon..hehehe...

from the Globe signal I have here at our house even before, I know that Smart here has better coverage and service (esp in the provinces) hence I deliberately bought their Smartbro prepaid...my only regret is that I cannot afford to have both pldt dsl and the smartbro unlimited...

  5. btw, I was so happy to read in the newspaper in the customer's lounge that they are planning for LRT to be constructed here in Cebu...

a couple of phases of the project will mean that if it does push thru...we will have trains from North (Sogod as last point) to Mandaue City to Dalaguete (the South)...

my parents told me there used to be a train system here running from Carcar to Danao, probably this was around the pre-WW2 era

....some remnants of the train tracks and old terminal may still remain if one looks sometimes :-)

  9. hi Kat...tell your sis first to check around dyan for people who have Smart as their providers sa cellphones nila...if ok ang signal..chances are ok din yan for prepaid..e P995 lang yata prepaid Smartbro ngayon...(teka, wala akong commission nito ha!)

I think Smartbro unlimited is also cheaper...pero may lock-in period...P700 plus yata per month...

Globe is only good if you are in urban sites such as Makati City (like sa CBD) and even then, like me...nasa 9th floor di ko makuha ang signal e nasa gitna ako ng Makati area...

basta for now I can vouch..provinces, ok ang Smart...

  14. Just curious, Cat. When your car is in the shop there, do they provide you with a loaner (a free rental car) so you can get around until your car is fixed?

but these days.....or at least in the cars I've run to the shop to (mostly Honda na)...the loaner or service car is not being done :-(

  17. This is actually a perks for customers so that they will bring their cars there for repairs.

  18. this actually reminds me of my thesis at post-grad school...coz I chose a car dealership ..they wanted something far away from my field..kaya ayon...

strategies like that would be good sana for car dealerships as they make more money out of the services they offer rather than the sales of their branded cars...

  19. am wondering if Sun has something like this...maybe none...:-) I've heard of comments on how diff it was to get a signal for a cellphone nga...tapos ganito pa expectation?

  20. Here, only the luxury car dealerships e.g. Mercedes Benz, BMW, provide that kind of value added services here but you have to make an appointment to get it. Other dealerships don't. They used to.

Enterprise rent a car company has situated all of their branches next to a car dealership in case customers need to rent a car, they got it right there.

  21. It is different here in British Columbia. The car insurance business is government owned and operated (Insurance Corporation of BC). All car owners in BC get their car insurance from ICBC and therefore, accident claims are easier to manage. Courtesy cars (loaners) are provided by car dealerships and auto body repair shops under the ICBC insurance plan. In short, you always have a car to use when your car is in for body repairs.

  22. Sounds like a very good plan. I like that. But how are the premiums? Are they affordable? Are they also based on how your driving record is.... good or bad (lots of speeding tickets or moving violation or just accident prone)?

    ReplyDelete
  23. that is so true...parang they've gone the opposite way..and to think that car dealership as a business - marami na rin...so dapat may extra factor to lure in the customers...

  24. Yes, premiums are based on your driving history: speeding tickets, traffic violations, at fault accidents, drunk driving convictions. Premiums are regulated by the government.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So it is just like the commercial insurance then. It should be that way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes, but here in BC it's government owned and a monopoly.
