Battle Plan: Sugurin ang Sagada!

Start:     Mar 11, '10
End:     Mar 15, '10
Location:     Sagada, Philippines
I am looking forward to spending time with Jing and Che and Sir B and the rest of the K's who can make it :-)

Culturally-rich, scenic Sagada is famous for its caves, hanging coffins, magnificent rice terraces, pine forests & mossy forests. Located 275 km. north of Manila, 140 km. from Baguio, Sagada is adjacent to Bontoc, the provincial capital.

Sagada is also famous for its "hanging coffins". This was a traditional way of burying people that is not utilized anymore. Not anyone was qualified to be buried this way; one had to, among other things, be married and have grandchildren.

Popular activities include trekking, exploring both caves and waterfalls, spelunking, bonfires, picnics, rappelling, visiting historical sites, nature hikes, and participating in tribal celebrations.

I've begged already to swap my forced leaves for these days..so left foot, march on!

  18. Cat, we will be there for Diego's graduation on Mar 26=27. Then we have to fly back to Cebu pronto for the Bantayan trip, remember? Manila will be at most a 2-day stay.

  20. Malapit na ito; I hope your foot is completely healed by then. If not, consider taking a cane... para may rest minsan yung paa mo.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Swelling is completely gone...may twinges lang once in a while if I move my foot differently..but otherwise I can stand and put my full weight on it po...

no running 45 km marathons yet though :-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Si Cat, mapipigilan ng twisted foot? Hah! She'll lead the charge up the mountains of Sagada, aching foot and bum tummy to boot! he he he

    ReplyDelete
  23. waah..no more bum tummy please...at least with an aching foot I can still hop upwards :-)

but Mommy Loy, sayang di ba? as a fellow Aries, the opportunity doesn't pass us by everyday...

    ReplyDelete
  24. so let's go na Mommy Loy, pumunta ka na dito at sugurin natin! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Uy, Aries din pala si Loy? Sumpungin din ba kayong dalawa na katulad ko? (^_^)

    ReplyDelete
  26. arah! Aries ka rin po? April or March? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  27. April 5th...I think sabay ng daughter ni MeAnn. I remember that yours is in March.

    ReplyDelete
  28. thanks for remembering me for March Aries women, Mommy Peachy!

kami ni Mommy Loy magkasunod...March 29 sya, ako 30...tapos my mom is also an Aries (April 2)....and now April 5 ka po..maghanap tayo ng Aries sa ating groupo na March 31, April 1, April 3 and 4....haha!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I admit sumpungin ako kapag gutom....I can turn quite sarcastic and nasty in my comments...my mom says maldita ako kapag walang kain...hehe...

    ReplyDelete
  30. That is so funny...pareho pala tayo. In my twenties, I had a boss in the hotel who would regularly ask me if I had eaten. If I said "no," he'd immediately go to our restaurant and tell them to send me food...kasi talagang masungit daw ako pag gutom. My mom explained it this way....payat daw ako masiado at kulang daw ng fuel yung brain ko kaya lahat affected pag hindi ako kumain on time. Wish I had that problem now....lol.

    ReplyDelete
  31. LOL...at least they can be wary of hungry women (almost synonymous with angry women).
I only gained weight here sa Manila (funny, sa Cebu di ako nag gain ng weight). Anyways, I noticed, I am prone to migraines and a ringing in my ears along with hunger pangs (plus, masyadong noisy ang tiyan ko...nakakahiya!).

I think your mom is right in that theory, shempre we need energy, and I think we burn it at a faster rate pa than usual. Of course, medyo nag slow-down na as time goes by but am sure Mommy Peachy you can still eat a ton and in proportion not gain as much weight as other people.

    ReplyDelete
  32. :-(( I wish I could go with you guys!! :-((

    ReplyDelete
  33. k lang Joey, next time puna ka Pinas, baka magkataon Sagada and more..

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wish that were true....haaay. (^_^) Time to work out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. that's the spirit :-)

btw, how is the snow situation there...is it a good workout to shovel snow? or dangerous because one might slide and slip..

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sure it's a good workout, but I don't do it myself. A couple of young men came to the door looking for work, so they shoveled for me....just enough so that you can get one car in the driveway...and just a narrow path on the walkway to the main door. There's really not much space where we can dump the snow on....there's just too much of it so we're just waiting for it to melt.

    ReplyDelete
  37. hmm...I suddenly had this idea na dapat may malaki kang swimming pool Mommy Peachy!

then you can channel some of the snow into it..so that when it melts (meaning medyo mainit na ang weather) ayos...pwede ka na mag-swim....*grin*

    ReplyDelete
  38. Haha...good idea for snow storage if your pool is empty, Cat. However, it is generally not a good idea to empty the pool during winter... so you still don't have the extra space......the falling snow will just accumulate on top of your pool cover. (^_^)

    ReplyDelete
  39. oh, I didn't know that it ought not to be emptied...bakit po?

aha...alam ko na..ilagay ang swimming pool sa basement...mwahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  40. (We're talking about not completely emptying the pool for the winter.)

Puedeng makasira...is the short answer...and the rest of the answer is boring so I won't elaborate here...lol. If you really want to know some technical reasons, please Google...just be prepared to get bored. They have different reasons for different types of pools...whether above ground or underground...or tiled....etc. (^_^)

    ReplyDelete
  41. ngeh..its enough to have the answer na pwedeng makasira...ayoko na ng details to that level...but well to be pasaway...if its the "not completely emptying" e di partial water..then partial snow being dumped...

but anyway, its hot here again..so am just glad that if may swimming pool dito..gamit na gamit ulit...
