I tried to fit in a trip to HK before or after Holy Week but the prices are prohibitive or the schedule is not good enough, hence I've decided to pray that my laptop will be ok while I am in Cebu for a 2-week working holiday :-)
Another plus in this instance is that if all goes well,I will be accompanying Mommy Loy and Tito Rudy to Bantayan Island in Northern Cebu ;-)
ay nainggit ako...=(
ReplyDeleteinggit ka ng inggit, sumama ka na or humabol ka?
ReplyDeletetaralets para kain tayo kina Mommy Loy (even if di pa nya alam) at saka sa Dove Street :-)
anuvah! holy week yan no....the family is also set to go somewhere too...kung pwede lang talaga no...kahit a one day wonder lang...
ReplyDeleteStay home lang kami pag Holy Week. : ) Happy fish diet!
ReplyDeleteno worries, till after Holy Week pa kami don :-)
ReplyDeleteat least *cross fingers* as long as ok lang laptop ko para work pa rin..and enjoy the humidity sa Cebu!
fish steak, fish soup, fish sticks, fish chips, fish bacon, fish chicharon...
ReplyDeletesayang, sana makapunta nga kayo rin on those days :-)
I really hope matuloy at gusto ko makita ang Bantayan Island on a Holy Week...
something different for you ba Cath ??? ... I'm home fro the Holy Week all the time ... cause I play for Mass.
ReplyDeletelots of Holy Weeks kc Kuya Nel, nasa Manila lang ako or outside of the country...long time since I've been in Cebu for that week...
ReplyDeleteeto nga e..got tempted by a call from my college classmate who lives in HK..nagyaya ilang beses na na punta daw ako sa HK para pasyal kami (ang lure sa akin ay HK Disneyland hehehe..kc Tokyo Disney lang napuntahan ko..at saka Macau) ....e sabi ko..wettaminet...uwi ako Cebu para naman I can feel the terrible heat and humidity during Holy Week in my hometown *wink*
eh?.....please clarify...play?
ReplyDeletea little sweat & sacrifice won't hurt CatH. Look at it at a brighter side, the Lord knows youre giving up something you like for HIM this Holy Week.
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant was I play the guitar during Holy Week rites in our parish CAth. hmmm, whats a better way to say it ?
ReplyDeletetumutugtog ako with the choir, AYON !
actually, my family never left for holy week din. talagang rituals ang ginagawa namin. visita iglesias, way of the cross, the salubong and easter mass.
ReplyDeletebut when i got married, my in-laws had a different take on holyweek. it meant vacation engrande...then, parang na gui guilty ako with how we spend it.
so when we were able to live on our own...i was able to influence my hubby to do our rituals. and then he would usually request for a quick respite to either Tagaytay or a spa in the metro.
Cebu has always had, in my memories, had a hot and humid weather. I always surmised before that the reason I could eat like a pig there and keep thin was that I kept perspiring :-) but during Holy Week? my goodness, I think its been seared into my memories how surprisingly hotter it got especially on Good Friday. I don't know how it is nowadays though, with all the climate changes if my memories still apply.
ReplyDeleteoh I see, sorry Kuya Nel, but I was thinking kc you were going to take part in sort of pasyon na play...like enacting Jesus carrying the cross ..ewan ko bakit my imagination ran to that direction...nunca sa isip ko ang pag-play mo ng guitar for the choir..ehehehe...
ReplyDeleteganon din kami before, especially when I was younger.
ReplyDeletethey say it was bad daw to be traveling or even doing something like going to the beach and splashing about on THAT Thursday and Friday.
then the turning point came when I went with my friends from Fujitsu to Cagayan and then Camiguin and spent Holy Week there. Especially since Jong's family had a sort of beachhouse perched atop the rocks by the beach (parang cantilado), ayon..the days were spend just lazing about. And since no lightning struck me and everything went well, Holy Week has been spent more and more on trips outside :-)
Anyway, nag excuse ako sa sarili ko...hehehe..I said I could perform the rituals on other days like yung Way of the Cross and mga visita iglesia.
On another note, a college bud of mine lives in Minglanilla, Cebu...and that has been known here for the ritual in Easter of meeting the Lord...I think its called "Sugat" (not "wound" but in bisaya its basic meaning is to meet)
Hindi bagay sa akin yon ha ! .... baka ako pa pwedeng maging KRUS ! hehehe
ReplyDeletewell...
ReplyDeletewere there a lot of sins? kc mabigat ka na KRUS...
ehehehhe!
mahirap akong pasanin Cath !
ReplyDeletemaybe sabihin ng nag-penitensya...- Panginoon, cge, punta na lang ako sa hell, di ko na kaya tong KRUS na to...hehehe!
