Wish I had a "steak" (not stake) on hand while reading "Dead in the Family"! Wheee! Going to be off-the radar for a while till I finish it bit by bit.

  1. You might as well have Kilawin or Dinuguan. By the way, what's really the attraction for Vamp stories? Some people are really facinated about it. I'm just facinated with those fascinated with it.

  2. oh, I dunno about other folks..I like werewolf stories, vamp stories, demon stories, ghost stories...probably fascination with the unknown?

in this case though the Southern Vampire series is vastly different from the Twilight series..and I personally prefer the former...coz not only is it funny but may whodunit...maybe if I hadn't started on the series, I wouldn't have ever reached this far...but then am inconsistent...if I really liked those kinds of supernatural stories....well, I have to confess I haven't completely read Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake novels.

  3. btw, I finished this novel....7 am na ako natapos..:-)

not my most favorite but I like it for its "surprise" factor for some characters...hope Charlene Harris hurries up with the next novel...

  5. I will take the bloody mary...but have to leave the jelitzy as I have no ken as to what it may be...

I will raise you an hojaldres though (which I am munching on)

  6. Blood sausage, a Czechoslovakian delicacy, and it's quite good.
(Sharon, having Czech background, introduced me to it.) May not be as good as our dinuguan, but it's along the same theme of ingredients.

For drinks, you may opt for some blood oranges, a true (dark) red variety of oranges.

  7. blood sausage?

(am thinking dinuguan frozen and shaped into a sausage)....hmmm..baka ito ang nabsa ko before in a romance novel na black pudding....

I've not been eating sausages for some time now...if ever lang dadaan sa plato ko :-)
call it whimsy but thinking that anything could just be ground into unrecognizable mass and stuffed into skin casings, make me think twice now when am faced with the bloody thing...

ay, that blood orange sounds refreshing! I particularly like sniffing orange peels...I hope I can taste this blood orange someday.
