pictures, words, and thoughts...
oh well....c'est la vie...
So I'm keeping to the short version (which has the very basic recent photos taken yesterday and today and of course the thoughts that I wish to convey) .
In the final run, this is what I would just be saying -
<at Lai Garden, SM Cebu>
From my dear dad and mom -
Nene and VK
and my good ole Russian friend Stoli -
who is keeping me company while I surf, (dad is snoozing and mom is cooking the prawns - yummy fave - for noche buena)
<at A Taste of Mandarin, Gaisano Country Mall, Cebu>
"Merry Christmas!!!"
from an island in the Pacific
- Cebu City!
<at my work table>
Here's to the best Christmas ever!
*hic, hic, hic*
(that was Stoli, not me!)
Cat, Merry Christmas to you, your parents and Stoli. Wag kang malasing dyan sa Russian Vodka ha?
ReplyDeletefor Jack - nakita ko while surfing - hehehe...
ReplyDeleteOld Mother Hubbard sat in her cubbard,
Eating Jack's Christmas pie;
He opened the door
Gave a furious roar,
And blackened Mother Hubbard's right eye.
Frohe Weihnachten!!
*drunken nod*
ReplyDeletenyet!
Bwahaha .. nag pupuyat nanaman si Cat. Frohe Weihnachten, meine Miezekatze.,
ReplyDeleteMeoww, Cat. I hope you're still up. I mean, one bottle of Stoli? Atras tayo dyan. But I very much like the idea of having the family around during Christmas. Altho I like to wrap gifts, what I like more is having the entire family wrapping arms around aach other.
ReplyDeletegimbal? does that mean...nakakagulat?
di ko naman naubos ang one bottle ..just a couple of shots..hehehe..di kc sya yung may flavor na Stoli eh and its been a long time since I've drank this brand of vodka..bata pa ako nun *blush* the last time I did so...hekhekhek...
oo..its really different when you have your family all around you during this season..even if may mga aggravation and slight glitches in plans as to what to do...nothing really comes close to being in the company of dear and familiar faces.
may your be wrapped like a mummy in the warmth of your family's hugs Chito!
I love cats. I have three at home and one in Cebu. Merry Christmas to you and your mom and dad Cat. Here's a toast to you for another exciting year, cheers!
ReplyDeleteCheers Cat! You owe me JohnandYoko.: )
ReplyDeleteWhat I usually do when I have to post a longish blog is to write it on Word first, then copy and paste later. First, that gives me control over style and content; I am able to organize my thoughts better. But more importantly, I am able to avoid the disaster that arises from glitches. Arrrggggh kasi yon!
ReplyDeleteCat, kanina pa 'tong post mo, so siguro by this time lasheng ka na.....hik hik hik
ReplyDeleteMerry christmas to you, to your parents and friend!
thanks BNK! eto katatapos lang ng brunch...nakahanap din ako ng OJ sa loob ng chaotic ref namin...at eto...2 more shots for the day :-) ok din coz its a bit cold here, umuulan....
ReplyDelete(joke lang, pwede naman talaga JohnandYoko ulit...I've got a hankering to taste their desserts)
aaargh! talaga!!!
ReplyDeleteAs can be probably gleaned from my postings (spellings, organization), I just write directly what comes to mind and I tend to ramble on and on and humahaba ng di ko mamalayan kung ano-anong mga sinusulat ko..hehehe...)
But I agree, for more important stuff I should really write a draft then copy and paste later here...
For some reason or another though, I have take some time getting warmed up and writing if I am faced with a blank canvas such as a word document..my fingers flow over the keyboard if I am faced with a web page such as the one in "Compose Reply" ....

Merry Christmas to you and your family and loved ones!
- From Nene, VK, Cat
- From Stoli
IT person ka kasi and I am supposed to be a writer (well, I've earned a lot more from my writing than from my drawings) that is why when I see a blank page, it does not really deter me. Pero kapag internet prompts, I get unsure. To me it's strange world.
ReplyDeletebilang ko eh 4-shots na per your brunch today; so nakailan ka na this whole day? that's truly a merry Christmas with your lovely fam and stoli, hikhikhik
ReplyDeleteaha! may stoli ka pala stashed away in your desk in cebu ha! di ka nag aaya dyan...wala bang sprite mang lang or seven up???

ReplyDeletepero ang nakaktuwa rin..is if you give me paper and ballpen, mas mabilis ako makasulat..nakakapagod nga lang sa hand...whereas, if its really a word processor, ewan ko ba...parang its so blah!
thank you to all of you for the holiday cheer you have sprung all around!

ReplyDeleteit snowed today, talagang white Christmas dito, see my album freezing Germany, fog palang yun, but now, snow na talaga...
A sure sign of a true writer. It should be a good habit to practice. I try to do the same specially when I am writing a memo or business letter on a blank word document whether it is long or short. You can always edit and check the content of your message before you send it in, specially the grammar. Better safe than sorry. Kaya walang Arrrgggh.
ReplyDeleteSome Americans, believe it or not, don't check their grammar. And worst is they don't check their spelling sometimes. I mean, this is their first language. What's up with that huh?

Hey Cat. Merry Christmas to you, your mom and dad too. Sounds like you had a great time with that Russian Stoli as your date. How about the Greek Uzo next time? Or how about a Hawaiian surfer dude? It's really nice to see you spending time with your parents. Carbon copy ka ng mom mo.
ReplyDeleteAloha Cat.
drink it neat MeAnn...para mas epektibo!
ReplyDeleteI just chill the vodka...sometimes ala on the rocks...
we don't have lots of mixers dito sa bahay eh...
tapos drink it straight..ayun...*shudder, shudder sa katawan*
on the other hand, yep, I saw your album...just looking at it makes me bristle with cold..
American English is different...
ReplyDeleteI remember reading once before, of a guy who was bemoaning the downward spiral of the American way of writing...
he was commenting on articles written in US dailies which were, to put it diplomatically, not something you would expect to be written or published in such papers (and it wasn't anything about entertainment or some light material but commentaries on business and politics...*sigh*) - grammar and syntax-wise...
Joey - ¿Cómo está usted
ReplyDeleteFor the ouzo, I would have to visit again the Greek taverna sa gilid ng subdivision nina Sir B.
The last time I was there, baklava lang ang pakay ko...(and to take a look at the macho Greek owner to check if Greeks were as good-looking as they were purportedly to be *ehem*)
Sir B and I did not have any ouzo or any retsina...nag comment nga si BNK at that time on it...hehehe
ah!..am sure my mom will be happy to hear your comment about me being a copy of her...people have different opinions on who I take after...but I have to admit when it comes to bone structure, it would have to be mommy...
*double-take ulit*
ReplyDeleteKanus-a ka mubalik?
ReplyDeleteCat, since ngayon pa lang ako pumasok sa usapang lashing, I suppose sober ka na ulit by this time? Glad to see you are having a blast (literally) there in Cebu. Warmest holiday greetings to your Mom and Dad. Tell them they are soooo lucky to have such a wonderful daughter. =)
ReplyDeletepa-post naman pics dito hehehe...at least baka ma encourage ako mag try (takot sa waves)
hi Ms. G...katatapos lang namin dito sa bahay for a sort of reunion sa college batch mates ko..
ReplyDeletekahapon ko lang naisip na tuloy ngayong Dec 27 to have an informal eat-together-potluck-type party...and it was great seeing some of them and their offspring -,dumadami nang tumatawag sa akin na Tita Cat..hahaha!
*looks left and right*....sssshhhh!
(may Absolut Mandrin pa ako dito secret stash ko..save ko for New Year *hic-hic-hic*)
*grin* sasabihin ng parents ko na "I love my own" if sasabihin ko yung last statement mo dito...*wink*
January 10, 2008 pohon-pohon.
ReplyDeleteNatuto ako nung araw pa. Here in British Columbia, there's surfing off the west coast of Vancouver Island, kaya lang malamig na ngayon. When I'm in Hawaii I surf. I used to be a jock (slang term for a very athletic person) when I was younger, pero ngayon medyo senior citizen na kaya slowed down a bit. I still ski occasionally but yet to learn snowboarding. I still ride a bike and go the the gym twice a week. It's quite obvious from how I look, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt is not a drink. It is a human being as in a local guy from here, brown skin, katawang pang-romansa, guwapo pa instead of a Russian guy.
ReplyDeletebtw, I guess tama ang analysis ko about you and your mom.
From your descriptions, e hindi ba joke instead of jock, ha BNK? (joke lang, hehehe, peace on earth :-)
ReplyDeletePwede ring Big Joke Jock.
ReplyDeleteahahahahahaha! "katawang pang-romansa"..that really got me laughing madly...
ReplyDelete*imagination switched on*
Cat: excuse me, order of one surfer dude please, yung katawang-super-pang-romansa edition (parang nag order ng action figure ika nga!).
now that is one thing I wish my dad would have..the drive to still be active in sports, regardless of whether medyo senior citizen na nga...
ReplyDeletekeep it up, BNK!
Uh-oh, Cat, you just gave another opening to BNK with your last line! LOL!
ReplyDeleteabah..ok yan Ms G....
ReplyDeletepara kaming Laurel and Hardy (o sya, sya, ako si Hardy kc baka sabihin ni BNK nagsasabi akong mataba sya)...am talking about being partners in crime about ideas and jokes...
Hey Cat, pwedeng Big Joke, pwede ring Big Jock. Can't please every chick, but only way to find out is...sa EB na lang natin pag-usapan. Piss to you too.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up, BNK!
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaha!!!
You'll be disappointed. LOL!
ReplyDeletehahaha!
ReplyDeletenawala nga yung image ko of an Adonis or Apollo spitting lamb over a hot fire....*sigh*
Language is evolving and continuously changing. The wrong spelling now could be the correct spelling in the future. Grammar is only for formal communication, either in letters, literature, manuals, etc. But when it comes to common usage or street usage, grammar is entirely forgotten and slang is often used. For someone speaking in English to be understood, he only has to say or pronounce the words right. Even Tagalog as taught in the classroom is different from Tagalog spoken on the streets of Manila. Some Americans, and Canadians too, write as they speak, hence the incorrect grammar and misspelling.
