I just got my own copy of "Balaanong Bahandi" (Sacred Treasures) book which features beautiful photographs and erudite write-up of the historical churches in the island of Cebu from whence I came from....I wish more people outside of the Philippines could see this!

  3. hi Mar,

I'm bursting with pride on this...(as if I had a hand in it..hehehe...which wala naman)...I've been to some of these churches (my mom is from Sibonga and I've visited Carcar, Argao and some towns on the western side of Cebu island)...

I admit I am a teeny bit afraid that like some other historical buildings we have here in the Philippines, these churches dotting the island will not be maintained or preserved faithfully (their architecture and history is quite riveting) - and this book will at least serve as documentation for these treasures as well as stand as tangible proof of the efforts of many other dedicated people - also...to be holding something that a fellow Multiplier has had a hand in (oh, plugging na sa career ni Mommy Loy hehehe).....e nag bask na rin ako in the reflected glory...hahaha!

  13. let's see...I may have updates on this on the next few days *prays hard and keeps fingers crossed* and this may mean in the long run Chito's and Meann's books can be brought to Manila by somebody else...or ako if may kasama akong pauwi...

otherwise...its really only this book I have with me already which kaya kong bitbitin...sorry, but my 2 laptops already bring over me the limit for handcarried luggage :-)

  14. *throws away rest of luggage already packed to make space for Chito's books*

kidding lang...I will confirm later if its doable or if I have to decline...when I go back to Manila kc, its guaranteed puno na yung check-in bag ko (whereas if I leave for Cebu, its half-empty sometimes ang luggage hehehe)
