"Happiness consists in not having much, but in being content with little." -> saw this on a tea package. Now, I've got the hang of that statement for some time already.

  1. its those little things when I least expect it, that reminds me again and again, there's so much in life to be thankful for :-)

  2. Here's one more thought for you, Cat, "The secret of a happy life is... lowered expectations." What do you think?

  3. and there's a Spanish saying I read somewhere - If you cannot get what you like, then like what you can get.

However, I would probably tweak it a bit coz it sounds a bit defeatist to me sometimes. I feel that the drive to reach those "unreachable stars" is what makes life more exciting :-)

  4. that statement reminds me of a Barbara Cartland romance I read back in high school..wherein the heroine says to our dark hero a similar thought and he replies back that she would make a good wife for a pastor :-)

I'm ok with that idea - after all, when my expectations get surpassed, I feel a wonder and surprise, followed by happiness (for that moment).

But it seems to me then that I may have lowered expectations but there is still this expectation in me of having those lowered expectations being surpassed?
    and so...

Uhm...wait!...1 pm na and no breakfast or lunch pa..I blame this going around and around on that lack of nutrition...

  5. for the moment, all I can say is mababaw lang ang kaligayahan ko :-)

hence I feel happy with the little things in life...even if its just a black ant crossing over my kitchen sink...

  6. I sense the start of boredom here...

Stop what you're doing right this moment and go out to the mall. Bring your camera. Or baba ka dun sa coffee shop sa ground floor. Walk around for a while. Watching ants marching along in your sink is not good.
