CONTENT & Happy with what you have Cath.
ReplyDeletei like that catgirl!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that po!
ReplyDeleteits those little things when I least expect it, that reminds me again and again, there's so much in life to be thankful for :-)
ReplyDeleteHere's one more thought for you, Cat, "The secret of a happy life is... lowered expectations." What do you think?
ReplyDeleteand there's a Spanish saying I read somewhere - If you cannot get what you like, then like what you can get.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I would probably tweak it a bit coz it sounds a bit defeatist to me sometimes. I feel that the drive to reach those "unreachable stars" is what makes life more exciting :-)
that statement reminds me of a Barbara Cartland romance I read back in high school..wherein the heroine says to our dark hero a similar thought and he replies back that she would make a good wife for a pastor :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm ok with that idea - after all, when my expectations get surpassed, I feel a wonder and surprise, followed by happiness (for that moment).
But it seems to me then that I may have lowered expectations but there is still this expectation in me of having those lowered expectations being surpassed?
and so...
Uhm...wait!...1 pm na and no breakfast or lunch pa..I blame this going around and around on that lack of nutrition...
for the moment, all I can say is mababaw lang ang kaligayahan ko :-)
ReplyDeletehence I feel happy with the little things in life...even if its just a black ant crossing over my kitchen sink...
I sense the start of boredom here...
ReplyDeleteStop what you're doing right this moment and go out to the mall. Bring your camera. Or baba ka dun sa coffee shop sa ground floor. Walk around for a while. Watching ants marching along in your sink is not good.
my foot is still making me limp along...its not fun walking like that...I went out yesterday..hay, I just got tired...
ReplyDeleteanyway, work to do, anime to see, shows to watch on tv..and black ants crawling on my sink signify good luck :-)
Old Chinese saying, "Ants crawling on kitchen sink means you haven't done your dishes yet."
ReplyDelete*grin*
ReplyDeletepossible, but what can you say after I've done them and they are still around, and all my food is covered, my garbage pail is emptied...
hmm..baka may patay na insect somewhere at pinagtyagaan nila..
this brightened my day Cath! Hope you don't mind me borrowing this line and posting it in my fb wall :)
ReplyDeletesure thing Peachy...feel free to post in FB...
ReplyDeletebtw, I got it from a Celestial Seasonings tea pack I received recently.
The line above was attributed to Marguerite Gardiner, Countess of Blessington :-)
Old Chinese saying: "After doing dishes, covering food, and emptying garbage pail...time to rest."
ReplyDeleteeh? I thought the point was the black ants...
