Wanted to have soft-boiled eggs with my slices of overdue toast (2 days ago) and the last of the orange marmalade as my spread. Paired with matcha (green tea) and goat's milk.
Set the eggs in a saucepan with water to be boiled and placed on my electric stove.
Gaaaaah!
Remembered belatedly the on-the-stove-eggs, oh about 30-45 minutes later, after all the emailing and surfing and doing the chacha on the internet that I did.
Saw two overboiled hard-boiled eggs (with water about 1/3 of where it was earlier).
Remembered out of the blue my bottle of Japanese mayonnaise stuck in the vegetable area of my ref.
Chopped haphazardly the over-boiled hard-boiled eggs up, added some pepper and some spices, then tipped them all in to a bowl of the Japanese mayo.
Spread with glee the mixture on two pieces of toasted milk bread.
Hmm...
Ate.
Munched.
Chomped.
..and ate some more.
It has been a long, long time ago..since I had something like this.
And that is how some of my mealtimes go..ending up somewhere different though similar from where I first started out.
Life's like that too ..sometimes.
Over-boiled but still good.
patikim nga !! ... please ??
ReplyDeleteKuya Nel, gumwa ka na lang dyan...
ReplyDelete2 eggs are ubos na...
I like overboiled eggs..one can keep it for a long time and slice them better for a salad...yummy!
ReplyDeletenaku....here I was trying to be profound about life...and eggs...but people are concentrating on the food part *giggles*
ReplyDeleteI love over broiled egg... perfect for south beach.
ReplyDeleteHaving an egg sandwich is always a nice treat.
ReplyDeleteHard boiled eggs are always nice with french (yellow) tomatoes, feta cheese and chives.
hi Mai!
ReplyDeleteAre you on a diet? No need kaya!
yo Mar, that chives thingie makes me remember Joey's recipe for his tofu with fresh chives..which I haven't seen here...
ReplyDeletefeta cheese and yellow tomatoes....ok, doable..check!
but overboiling an egg doesn't really harm it right?
ReplyDeleteI mean, silly me...its already boiled..so the worst that can happen is...the shell gets cracked...
sibuyas. green onions?
ReplyDeleteoh I see, pwede na yung sibuyas...akala ko kc the chives, although similar in looks to the sibuyas dahunan (thats what we call it here versus the sibuyas bombay which is the onions na bulbs) is different that it gives another kind of flavor...
ReplyDeleteor as a substitute you mean?
Sounds pretty much like the way I cook...forgotten and overdone most times. ;))
ReplyDeleteOkay lang, lamang tiyan na rin yan.
when hungry, everything turns out yummy!
ReplyDeleteIt worked out in the end!
ReplyDeletehaha, as long as its not poisonous from overcooking (as Tito Rudy from FB ribbed me about), its all the same in the end to the stomach when it receives its input and produces its output *wink*
ReplyDeletetoo true Meann! I bet hardcore vegetarians would change their mind and eat something not a vegetable if they get hungry enough and the survival instinct kicks in..
ReplyDeleteas they say...when life gives you lemons..you make...lemon cake...ehem..I mean lemon cookies....
ReplyDeleteoops...lemonade...
