More than the scenery, travel for me is meeting people.
ReplyDeleteTraveling for me is more than taking in the sights it is also enjoying the food. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeing exposed to new cultures and experiences I think leaves an indelible mark on me...and I hope changes me for the better.
ReplyDeletei totally agree and for me, travelling is also education that you don't normally teach in the classrooms. have a safe one and i hope you are getting well.
ReplyDeletethanks Meann...went out and bought another batch of fresh ginger..and some fresh strawberries..may vitamin c daw marami ang latter..so might as well try it too..
ReplyDeleteAnd also learning their culture and trying their food. It is an educational process. That is why travel is a very fun thing to do if one can afford it all the time.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to notice at least that the young people I've been working with in the past 5 years have been more keen on travel than doing other stuff like parties and disco (sabagay..passe na siguro disco)...
ReplyDeleteThat means mga mature na yung mga kasama mo. Also, traveling is so easy and so convenient nowadays, except the hassle you get when you pass thru TSA:-(.
ReplyDeleteIn my case Joey, this is really true. Did you know that I didn't travel out of the country until 1986 only? Two decades before that (mostly martial law years), it was really difficult, at least for me, even if I had the wherewithal.
ReplyDeletehmm..I think it is more a case of more younger people nowadays can afford to travel...
ReplyDeleteas for TSA....e mukhang dyan lang yan eh...not a very bad case pa dito...
I left the Philippines in 1977. I did not experience international travel before I left so I don't know what kind of difficulty they impose on travelers. Would you mind sharing them with me in comparison to today. Thanks Chito.
ReplyDeleteAnd with that, regular travelers earn club membership points which allow them to travel for free. And when you are premier status or platinum, you go through a special or preferred line where you can just zip in and out through TSA, as long as you are in compliance with their rules and a preferred line when you check in at the airport and hotels.
