Tentative itinerary:
Osaka - 2 days
Dotonbori (Namba)- maybe upon arrival
Bunraku Theater
Shitennoji Temple
tip from a friend on where to stay -> http://amantovillage.multiply.com/
Kyoto - 3 days
Kiyomizudera (will see how it looks in fall)
Eikando
Shugakuin Imperial Villa (missed this last time coz already fully booked, but maybe its too early)
Tokyo - 4 or more days
Nikko - must, must, must
Fuji Five Lakes - I've to see Fuji-san..so all in one trip
Nishizawa Valley - option

ReplyDeleteoh dear..I have to weed out and plan where...one in Kyoto probably..then a must near Tokyo will be Nikko,
Fuji Five Lakes?
dare I go to Hokkaido?
I was aiming for 8 days to 13 days max...or when my money gets seriously depleted..whichever comes first..hehehe..
Nothing planned but if I do it will be in october and Osaka will be one city I visit due to my two friends Seiji and Shigemi in Kashiwara. hugs.
ReplyDeleteNikko is worth visiting there's a wonderful World Heritage site there, see photos on my page from 2009.
ReplyDeleteHokkaido - Sapporo will be getting quite cold by then.
Hugs.
if you do go..try to make it last until at least first week of November :-)
ReplyDeleteso we can meet up thereabouts..
take care and keep me posted...
I'll keep you in mind and posted. I could plan for a later visit including 7 days in November.
ReplyDeletethat is good news indeed!
ReplyDeleteam so excited already, and not just the thought of seeing all those beautiful sights (am being optimistic the trip will be ok) but getting to see folks in person :-)
I know what you mean, all my visits prior to 2006 were made without having any friends at all, since then has been very different with more than thirty personal friends from Sapporo to Okinawa to act as my private guides in their various locations.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
dont gooow! hehe kidding =)
ReplyDeletesama ka na Marie..otherwise hanggang Little Tokyo lang tayo ..hahaha!
ReplyDeletethat is heartwarming story John..to think all of these friends you've made are part of the trip itself and will be also for future trips...and I hope you get to make many more!

ReplyDeleteon Nov 2-3
There is the Ohara Matsuri in Kagoshima.
About 15000 people parade through town in their cotton yukatas and dance to popular local folk songs.
I suppose its like Sinulog and Mardi Gras...
