I enjoy Lady Gaga's songs and music videos, even those which are marked with a warning as "explicit". However, I confess it was the first time my eyebrows were raised to the heavens when I saw her complete "Alejandro" music vid.

  2. remember the time before na may fashion show na ganito rin..yung brassiere ay parang my cones sticking out of it? that wasn't so bad..pero that red latex nun's outfit and yes, those armalite bras are just one of the few things to make me question..can we still consider this art...or medyo it has gone over the border na?

  3. well, I admit the lyrics are funny (I was surprised with the picture of who "Roberto" was in her video hehe)...but maybe the spoof was easier to understand..

I tried to make heads and tails out of what message or story that Lady Gaga was trying to give in her music vid..and I'm stumped...hmmm..maybe its the Catholic schoolgirl in me :-)

  4. Lady Gaga's "Telephone" video with Beyonce is well-produced. So is "Paparazzi".
Poker Face is a nice song.

  5. What do you mean it's funny? It's definitely so not funny! It's hilarious to the max!! And Roberto is Robert Pattinson of Twilight ("he sucks the blood like Robertooo...")

  6. I really don't know. I think the parody is right. Gaga sounds very much like Madonna. And now she's trying to become more bad ass as Madonna (but still a Madonna copy-cat).

And you're right, too, about the production. It's really the creative directors and the sound editors who need to be credited with these music videos just like those of Beyonce, Aguillera, and even Britney Spears. The gals are there only for their pretty face or in Gaga's case boldness in parading their almost naked bodies or outrageous costumes.

  7. yeah..and...? what are your thoughts on "Alejandro"?

question though Mar, coz there are different versions usually of music videos...did you see the "Telephone" explicit version? medyo racy din...though not as "gay" as the the one above :-)

  8. in this case kc clarong-claro ang La Isla Bonita and yes, strains of Ace of Base...but
on the other hand, there are other songs where melodies do sound alike, even if its a little part or most of the song...

for me, when I heard it, I was admittedly thinking of Madonna....but then when Gaga said "Fernando" naisip ko rin Abba....

abah..ewan..sumakit ulo ko trying to really make something out of the video...coz while I can see some gay love in it...I don't know what the other scenes are supposed to portray...dagnabbit...swallowing the rosary was illogical for me (even if somebody said it was like taking the Holy Ghost...hello! pano yon po?)

  9. I admit that the beat and the tune are quite catchy. I like it. But forget about the lyrics. Forget more the video. They really mean nothing, except that the words' got rhyme.

  10. pano kaya male version? Lord Gago? :-)

I still do like her songs though...I had a fun time with Papparazi...and Bad Romance wasn't bad at all...first time I saw her pretty face without all that make-up

  11. I was trying to reconcile what she said -

In May 2010, Gaga told The Times about the concept of the video: ".... purity of my friendships with my gay friends, and how I've been unable to find that with a straight man in my life. It's a celebration and an admiration of gay love—it confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. In the video I'm pining for the love of my gay friends—but they just don't want me to be with them."

versus what Stephen Klein (he was the one who did the video and is a photographer in his own right) said -

Klein explained that the video was, "about a woman's desire to resurrect a dead love and who can not face the brutality of her present situation. The pain of living without your true love."

I felt it didn't match up...

  12. It's all blah-blah-blah. But be that as it may, the songs/video music she's been making is raking in millions of dolares! That's the bottom-line my friend.

  13. Did you know that Lady Gaga was a girl named Stefani Germanotta not long ago? Here's a slide show about her "evolution." (I like her song, "Captivated." I though it was a sweet song.)

  14. hmm....well Lady Gaga certainly has "evolved"...as you say..
