Its been ages since I last tasted Crabtree & Evelyn's jams and fruit preserves. Yesterday their nearest store advised me to try again today, and lucky me, they had a few jars of strawberry and blueberry jams. So here I am with those jams, English tea and a bunch of orange cookies and stem ginger biscuits. Bye-bye budget, hello afternoon tea!

you should try Sagada's Blueberry & Strawberry jams!...you get them summer time!
ReplyDeleteI was able to buy a couple of jam jars from Masferré's Inn and Restaurant :-)
ReplyDeletewhat is left in my ref now is just the mulberry one :-(
I liked their orange and blueberry..but I didn't buy the strawberry anymore (I'm more for getting those not readily available...e strawberry meron sa Baguio hehehe)
I prefer jams to not be so sweet...which was the only other concern I had with the ones I bought...but I guess more sugar is a way to preserve it for much longer.
btw, 35% off on all items till end of this month..a Father's Day Special at the store...
ReplyDeletea couple of years ago Aklay, tha french chef in Sagada made Blueberry jam that was 35% less sugar...i don't know why he stopped making them...sayang.
ReplyDeletepair it off with clotted cream and Tita Loy's ever yummy (very english) scones.=)
ReplyDeletehay..I miss her scones and her homemade clotted cream..siguro if don ako nagvacation sa bahay nila..request ko to araw-araw (afterwards, di na ako pababalikin sa bahay nila *grin*)
ReplyDeleteay sayang nga...nandyan pa ba si Aklay?
ReplyDeletehe's still there, you hardly see him go around though....sayang galing niya, he seems content baking bread for different eateries in town.
ReplyDeletePababalikin pa rin - but with a clause !
ReplyDeleteA taste of England, Cat.
ReplyDeletehmmmm...same with the German master bread maker I met in Sogod town in Cebu (of all places)...siguro its time to enjoy life the way they want to and away from the rat race
ReplyDeletethe clause will be: the scones and clotted cream will be limited to only 12 servings per day...:-)
ReplyDeleteonce in a while, its good to indulge...
ReplyDeletebtw, I checked out the company...funny, Malaysian owned na ..from wikipedia -
"It is wholly owned by KLK, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd., a Malaysian company that also owns palm and rubber tree plantations. The company is Malaysia’s third-largest palm oil producer"
he bakes bread on a Monday or Tues, delivers the bread and takes off to his private world in the boondoks, a 1 day trek!...he comes back on a friday does market sat to prepare for Saturday dinner buffet at Log Cabin.
ReplyDeletethat reminds me..I missed eating at Log Cabin...*woebegone look*
