On Dec 29, 2008 I arrived back in Manila after a wonderful Christmas vacation with Helene and her family in Singapore....and just in time to have dinner with my bro and his family in Makati City. The next day, I zoomed to Cebu to be there in time for New Year 2009.
I did land back in Mactan Island but I already felt somewhat out of sorts and lightheaded. However, its been a tradition (in other words, so we don't have to cook as we don't have a helper) that when I arrive from Manila, we go out to eat something and then sleep.
So after picking up my bags, my parents and I proceeded to Waterfront Hotel Lahug.
This time I opted for a la carte at Uno since I was famished and since I was hoping Kaiyen (manangkaiyen to our Multiply group) and I could meet up later that night, fever be darned. And no, it didn't happen, I finally succumbed to my bed and stayed there in my sickbed for a day or two. *sigh* I had missed seeing her when I was in Sanfo and now that she was in Cebu, I missed her again.
Below you will see pics of our lunch at Uno (and I tested the waiter's patience by asking for cup after cup of lukewarm or hot water) and then a look at an exhibit at the hotel lobby.
btw, Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu has also the Casino and has many other restaurants we used to frequent back in my days of working in the IT industry in my hometown. A favorite used to be Port for its reasonably priced seafood dishes..and there's this Italian resto here too which I've not visited hehehe...
The hotel with its light at night looks quite stately from afar, in fact it sometimes makes me think of a castle in my whimsy....
you can check out their site: http://waterfronthotels.com.ph/cebu/ You might like to try visiting it, if not for gambling then maybe eating or hanging out as its quite near other establishments.
Since I had left all my bags in the car, pics below were taken using my trusty Nokia 6300, in all its unadulterated and uncropped glory *grin*

I figured I'd try to ease back into Multiply posting by looking over my cellphone pics and posting some of them.. ![]()
I see, i always resize my photos during sorting so tghat uploaded ones are not too large, but not to small either. Obviously I won't upload all 4000 photos from Thailand, nor those from Japan.

hahaha! if you were to upload all those photos from your trips with all the complete captions etc., by the time you finish, it might be another trip back *grin*

This is a wonderful picture of you and your mom. Glad I could zoom in to escape the translucency here and see a clearer and bigger version.

personally, I'm tired of lugging around big cams...so if ever there comes a time there will really be a cellphone with a fine enough camera and decent for talking and texting, I'd rather buy that...*lazy bum thats me*

ako rin, ganyan, i harass the waiters asking for warm water or hot tea...ask Jack, he saw me ask one after another....hehehe!! ![]()
hahaha! hence what happened Meann?
me? I finally told the waiter after my 6th glass, to please bring me a big pot of hot water na lang... and he did..he brought over this big white teapot full of only hot water which gradually cooled and which I consumed...of course I explained to him I was feeling quite sick and wanted to do water therapy..lest he thought I was being demanding :-) |
