you were expecting it to be in Monaco? *grin*
February 16, 2008 (Saturday),
Ortigas -> Batangas -> Makati
The groovy groom:
Albert - aka Abet to others, though I fondly like to tease him as Alberta..I dunno, I just like putting the letter "A" in guy's names, not because they are effeminate, but I think it sounds exotic hehehe.
I tagged him this way because I remembered Sir Jun asking where he could find white leather shoes to go with his wedding outfit. Groovy, right? He was my last team's technical lead and one of the senior developers in my previous company in Ortigas.
The blushing bride:
Caline - I got introduced to Albert's then-girlfriend, now-wife, since inevitably that last software project I had with Albert and the others, called for lots of extra hours at the office and who would wait for Albert patiently if not for his loved one? We got to talking and the last time we met before her wedding was at the birthday of Redgie's last year. How time flies!
Since I got invited to the wedding (through a YM chat), I, along with ex-officemates and the new ones in their company, went to this wedding in Batangas. We squished ourselves in Sir Jun's car and so, along with Roy, Sam and Tinette we bowled happily (some, sleepily) along that shady afternoon on the southern route.
Tinette made it to the wedding with one minute to spare, and since she was one of the principal ninangs (read: wedding sponsor), it was really blessed good timing that we passed by the church when we did (we couldn't match the name with the invitation's description so we had passed the church not knowing it was the wedding's site!) and at the time they were scheduled to do the wedding march down the aisle.
Travel time took longer than the ceremony and reception put together. But it was a special moment which was worth it. The experience had also some funny moments especially when the groom laughed during the serious exchange of marriage vows (why? he is a person prone to smiling and laughing even in the most serious of situations), during the reception when we sort of did marathon eating, and when most of the reception guests disappeared like bubbles popping in the air.
Best of all, it was nice to see the other Blastasia people again in this kind of setting (read: free food). It would have been nice catching up with the stories but afterwards we had to go back earlier especially since it was a long trip back home, plus Tinette had to go to Tarlac to attend another occasion which was more melancholy in nature than the one we just became part of. Before my going home, Sir Jun and I shared more food and drinks (blame my uncontrollable stomach) and stories. In the meantime, I hope Albert and Caline, invite us to their 25th wedding anniversary *smiles*

No offense, but I notice that wedding guests don't dress up in the Philippines (this isn't the only wedding I've seen in Multiply). This must be the custom, not the norm.

well, yung iba sa reception na kc sila BNK..or pumunta lang sa church for the marcha or sa last picture taking or mag-uzi (usyusero?) ....some people here try to be formal,while others who are not part of the official entourage come in less formal attire...
