Ryokan Seikan-so, Nara, Japan
I definitely needed to walk away my breakfast. Took a few shots of the garden and inner yard in the morning light before checking out and leaving my luggage at the ryokan with the owner's permission.
btw, for those travelling in Japan, its a very convenient way of touring around without being hampered by your luggage...its what I also did at New Miyako hotel...you can either have your luggage sent ahead, or you can leave it behind while you do your touristy stuff. No extra charge, and its still pretty safe..in fact, in one of my bags I did leave some money in a secret pocket and didn't lock the bag (I run out of padlocks since I ensured my laptop first and foremost). Everything was still there when I came back and continued on my merry way.

Beautiful place, beautiful photos. True enough, you can even leave things laying around in your room, Japan has the worlds lowest rate of criminallity.

*sigh* what can I say, sometimes I think my countrymen are just too exposed to that kind of thing happening here, that they've grown scales over their ears, blinders over their eyes and mufflers over their mouths...
sad to say that in this album, but I thought a contrast would emphasize more how there is this situation in my native land...and its not even just a one in a zillion incident...

I'm aware of it, so much is said, but very little done to improve the situation.

yes, although I wonder if somebody who would just act, without talking about this, would be better..

I kind of miss the plants and garden in my childhood home (even if there is no design, rhyme or reason to our garden hehehe), all the more so when I am living in a condo.
I've tried to compensate by planting herbs (which always gets eaten when they grow a bit by the maya birds here leaving me with just the pots)...
last week, I finally got a couple of cactuses which I've named Polka and Broc (short for Polka dots and Broccoli hehehe)...plants are really calming...

try this...
get a handful of mints. and a teaspoon of sugar. use mortar and pestle to pound the mint and sugar together. set aside.
buy a sweet pineapple. don't take out the skin. just slice them round. then grill both sides.
drizzle the grilled pineapple with the pounded mint & sugar.
take a bite...
heaven!!!
