Nov 2008: "Chili"ng out (album)

While walking about taking pictures of the buildings in the city of Cincinnati during whatever extra time I had that Friday before I left, I acutely felt the cold after 30 minutes of strolling around the neigborhood of the office...subsequently, I stopped to have some of their good ole standby chili.

Skyline chili was something I had last year too...but I had chosen kid-sized meals that time. *grin*

This year I was hungry enough to consume their 5-chili bonus in a more than regular size - that decision had me being handed over a bib as it can get pretty messy. Along with their sweet iced tea and a Greek salad..I was set for lunch and dinner combined.

Check out their site: www.skylinechili.com

The story according to their site:
From a small kitchen in the village of Kastoria, Greece, a fascinated young Nicholas Lambrinides watched as his mother and grandmother prepared authentic Greek dishes. Their recipes had been passed down from generation to generation. These were unique, wonderful dishes that had the power to bring his whole family together.

Nicholas dreamed that one day he would bring these recipes and traditions to America, where he could share them with friends and family. In 1949, his dream came true when Nicholas opened his first restaurant overlooking the skyline of Cincinnati, Ohio and began serving his delicious secret recipes to appreciative customers.

Since then, Skyline Chili's Coneys, Ways and table-side service have been enjoyed by generations.

Goldstar chili yata yung isa na competitor ng Skyline..I could not find an outlet in the streets I was walking around..so I ended up in Skyline...

I prefer the chili con carne na canned though...yun ang paboritong kong tina-top sa rice ko...masrap din tong kinain ko dito..lots of cheese on top...

    uhm....may konting natira sa salad....

but to be honest, it was because medyo nag pool na yung Greek salad dressing sa baba ng bowl at medyo maasim na...otherwise, I would have gobbled up every leaf left on the bowl...I ate all the feta cheese I could find para di sayang...hehehe...

*wails* when the weather is cold..ang sarap kc kumain! I need energy to combat the cold!

kc mga 3 pm na to...at isang chocolate cake slice and bagel lang nakain ko for breakfast...kaya bawi!

for those who travel (not necessarily live) in countries with cold weather, isn't it true that you burn more calories and eat more?

I first asked how big exactly were the chili portions..

I was surprised when the waitress suddenly left me..

5 seconds later, she was back on my table with 3 dishes...eto yung middle-sized dish...so if you guys will eat there next time...choose the biggest! mas maraming cheese!

ako naman, I prefer cheese melted in the chili, instead of used as topping...

may pics ako with Bandido and Mar na ipost ko later..

may blackmail material (video and picture) ako sa kanila na nag play sa stockings and christmas tree and paper bag under the tree...pero di ko na lang ipakita at baka ma-banish outside of the house yung mga cuties...hehehe...

if only I know how to do themes...pwede ko palitan ang mga pusa dineh with the antics of those two...

waaah...sayang..I really wanted to ask you to take a picture of me with them when they were playing and snuggling up to me...meron akong kinuha pero parang a badly-imitated Picasso-painting ang nangyari...ngek!

thanks Nonz...I think (cute ako with bib? hmmm....)

btw the bib is plastic..and it has a fold at the bottommost part, like a pocket so whatever slides off or falls into the bib is caught in this pocket so that your lap doesn't get messily dirty...
