Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan
Paid a visit to the palace, the gardens, took a trip around the bay, watched a movie about having no moon, visited an auction and last but not the least, saw the fireworks.

Information and details below taken from the official website of Huis Ten Bosch:
* Reproduction of the Dutch Palace Huis Ten Bosch *
Special permission was required to reproduce the exterior of the palace, known as Huis Ten Bosch, of the reigning Queen of Holland.
Inside you will find the largest dome mural, a 19X11 meter (825 sq. meters) mural based on the themes of peace and antiwar, in Japan, which took a Dutch artist 4 years to complete and the Huis Ten Bosch Museum which houses various exhibits from time to time. Don’t miss the exquisite 17th century Dutch Baroque garden located behind the palace.
{Cat -> no pictures allowed of the mural, though the gardens were lovely enough to help me get over my pique}
* IFX Theater Kirara *
The name IFX is an acronym representing the elements Imagination and Infinity (“I”) as well as Effects (“FX”), to represent a theater where you can experience space stretching out infinitely all around you.
Mitsubishi Pavilion’s “If There Were No Moon,” which met with acclaim at the 2005 World Exhibition in Aichi, reappears more captivating than ever in this powerful, expansive screening area. The importance of the global environment is conveyed through beautiful computer graphics using Japan’s cutting-edge technology together with intense video and powerful acoustics that change with the story.
* Landmark Tower *
This landmark 344 foot tall tower recreates the tallest church tower in the Netherlands. Ride an elevator 262 feet to the top and enjoy the sweeping panorama of Omura Bay and the streets of Huis Ten Bosch.
= What I missed but wanted to see =
* Mysterious World of Woodblock Artist M.C. Escher *
A symbol of the Netherlands, woodblock artist M.C. Escher is famous for using optical illusions in his art. Experience the unforgettably mysterious world of his genius through 3D images.
* Horizon Adventure *
Experience the violent floods from Holland’s history in a powerful sensory theater. Visitors feel like they’re about to be engulfed as mist, lightning, waves, rain and deluges of water approach with frightening realism, all brought to life by special equipment.
* Magic Mirror Maze *
A world illusions in the largest maze in Japan
* A Mysterious and Unique Labyrinth of Art *
This venue displays the fascinating artistic technique called “trick art,” in which the two-dimensional world is drawn in three dimensions. Adults and children can together enjoy observing and touching the world of optical illusions created using perspective and lighting.

sometimes its easier with an unorganized garden...the riot of colors of the flowers maganda...pero for a palace like this, I suppose one has to me quite structured...parang en-grande talaga ang style...
I prefer the labyrinths sa English gardens though

Maiba tayo...your Goth wallpaper looks good. But something is spoiling the design. it is a one inch width caramel-colored bar that runs horizontally across it. It becomes obtrusive to reading

am sad to say wala akong alam sa knots..unless knots sa buhok or knots sa shoelace.....it would be interesting to know how to do it..
and btw, on the deck, they demonstrated one knot which when pulled at one end, miraculously just unravelled itself..galing..
which reminds me, may pictures pala akong di nasama dito...san kaya yon...

added this plus the next 3 pictures...
as an extra treat, we were asked who would like to go up the part of the ship's bow (I don't know the correct term on what to call that potruding portion above the figurehead)...
its not that clear here, but it was steep and if not for the safety nets underneath, I'm sure I would not have the nerve to try it :-)
