The sky was grayish, my mood was peckish. I had no choice but to walk out of my comfy cubicle since I had to find Meralco due to a forgotten electric bill. I walked and walked and walked past the Makati Post Office and the Fire Station.
Afterwards, I ended up on the other side of Ayala Avenue (intersecting EDSA) since I thought of going to SM for more payments. My feet were okay, but riding a jeepney even along Ayala Avenue made me uncomfortable. I looked around for those electricity-powered jeepneys they were talking about in the news but nothing came my way.
When I came out of the office later that night, it was raining steadily and the cold weather was the trigger for my looking for something hot and filling to eat - congee perhaps? As I splashed thru puddles and carried my heavy bag, I finally took a detour and ended up eating...not congee but something just as good at a Chinese restaurant - steamed lapu-lapu with black beans at David's TeaHouse to be precise.
That hot meal and an earlier bedtime (2 am) made me look forward to eating more chinese food today at Ma Mon Luk when the merienda pushes through.

what irritates me is that we shouldn't be banned from taking pictures of stuff like this...
with all the sophisticated gadgets now, its not practical to stop people who are obviously using a camera to have a keepsake...
sheesh..and they want tourists to come here? if I were blond, blue-eyed and a 6-footer, would I still get the "no-no" signal?

am trying to write my response upside down din Chito..in honor of your interesting headshot :-)
as for the "sick-yu" as you so cunningly put it...he was on the other side of Ayala Avenue...I was thinking of ignoring him...e baka he would pop a vein and mamatay sa inis..kaya ayun..after he waved his arms, di na ako tumuloy...

Right! thanks, Cat! Palindrome.
Not just words which read the same backward as forward, but also a verse, sentence, etc. I remember in school, we had examples like "Madam, I'm Adam...", or "A man, a plan, a canal, Panama! " :-))) Galing din ni Chito!:-)

I like the way Ayala draped/wrapped all the trees and shrubs in the district with small white plastic stars. I just got disappointed that they weren't individually lit.

Its always difficult to take pictures of buildings in Makati..I think even Sir B and his camera crew were also stopped?/questioned? before...
I don't rightly know. Its weird here...I can't even take good pictures of displays like in Landmark..like one time I wanted to take a picture of myself and the Christmas tree behind me..abah..ayaw..
the building is RCBC Plaza..where we had our lunch at Piquant..and where F8 and some other people I know work...

brainstorm as to why we are not supposed to take pics of this and the building:
- we will copy the design and make a replica of it in the middle of an island in the Pacific
- we will put post the picture on some other site (not Multiply) ...but first we will edit it and put gross-looking statues instead
- we will most probably enact the statues positions next time we will attend a rally or re-enactment of the Edsa revolution
- IPR to...di pwede maski pitture
- ewan...only in the Philippines? *inis*

Baka gamitin sa pagplano ng attack sa building. Dito sa side na ito maraming tao, etc. Dito mahina ang mga ganito-ganyan.
RCBC is the safest building daw kaya nandyan ang UN, EU, embassies, energy companies, etc.

I suppose I could start the attack (if I were of the mind to) by taking pictures of the sculpture and making that go boom..hehehe...(ok to be fair di naman alam ng guard saan nag point ang cam ko if when I was taking shots from the other side of the road)..
seriously though, its difficult to implement that "no picture" strategy to all people who are of a mind to if gustuhin talaga na kunan...for the love of all things photographic - am thinking of a high-speed actual shoot and run - picture-ran habang nasa loob ng getaway na sports car (preferably Ferrari)...then speeding away and sticking one's tongue out at the poor sikyo...
P.S. sino pala magbabayad ng damages to the Manila Peninsula after the brouhaha? (the image came to my mind of tanks storming across RCBC Plaza if may "The Penn" incident na naman)
